My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit our application at Richardsonrescue.org. Bentley was 1 year old as of September, 2024 and is a Standard Poodle. This boy has a nice temperament and has gotten along well with large, small and tiny dogs here but was an only dog in his previous home. He has never been around cats so we cannot comment to how he would do with cats. He is  a shy guy though and will not come running to you when you visit him and is timid about new things. However, he has not had any nippy or aggressive issues with us even though he is shy.  He will need some time and patience in a new home. He is house and crate trained and will need to be crated if you leave him home alone. A home where someone is home a lot would probably be best. He does great in a fence and does not try to escape. He loves to take walks and runs. He would do best in a quiet, adult home with experience working with dogs that are a little shy. He is now coming up to everyone here at the rescue for some loves and we love it. Bentley is neutered and current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention.

More about this rescue

Nestled in twelve acres of country and woods is a place for animals that are hardest to help, BIGGER dogs, abused pets and puppy mill dogs. They need more time, more space and more love than many full rescues can provide. Their adoptions sometimes take months, but they get the room and attention that they need to get back on all four feet. The problem.... not many people are willing to give them a chance. We also offer low cost spay and neutering when funding allows.
