My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scene opens with soft, gentle piano music. The camera focuses on a shy, little kitten with soulful eyes peeking from behind a corner. It’s Bailey.]

Narrator (calm and soothing voice):
In a world where trust is earned, one little kitten is about to show the power of patience... meet Bailey.

[Cut to Bailey cautiously approaching her foster mom, taking a tentative step forward. She looks up, her eyes wide with curiosity.]

Narrator:
Bailey started off as the shyest of her litter, taking her time to find the courage to open her heart. But something magical happens when you give her the space to grow.

[Scene shows Bailey being gently pet by her foster mom, her eyes softening, a purr beginning to rumble.]

Narrator (warmly):
Now, Bailey is learning to trust, one gentle touch at a time. She’s discovering the joy of affection, seeking out pets from her foster mom and curling up beside her at night.

[Cut to a peaceful scene of Bailey curled up in a cozy bed, snuggled against her foster mom, eyes closed in contentment.]

Narrator:
What once began as a quiet soul, unsure of the world, has blossomed into a loving companion ready to share her heart with someone special.

[Bailey slowly and cautiously climbs into her foster mom’s lap, finally finding the courage to settle in.]

Narrator:
It takes time, but Bailey is proving that the greatest love is the one you wait for. Will you be the one to give her the forever home she’s been waiting for?

[Scene transitions to Bailey looking up, her eyes filled with trust and affection as she snuggles closer.]

Narrator (softly):
Bailey... she’s shy, she’s sweet, and with your love, she’ll become your closest friend.

[The screen fades to the words: “Adopt Bailey. She’s ready to share her heart with you.”]

Narrator:
Bailey… a journey of trust, love, and warmth begins. Are you ready to be a part of it?

[The music swells, leaving a sense of peace and hope as the screen fades to black.]

Bailey's estimated birthdate is 10/8/24. She must be adopted with one of her sisters, her mom, or another kitten or be adopted into a home that already has a kitten under 2 years old. While her foster mom does have a dog, Bailey has been keeping her distance from the dog. She is current on age appropriate vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped. She will need to be spayed when she is old enough.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

At the adoption fairs, if you meet a kitten or cat that you want to adopt, you will be asked to complete an application and contract and leave a check for the adoption fee ($120 for an adult or $145 for un-neutered kitten of which $50 is a deposit that is refunded after you provide 4Paws proof of sterilization). We ask that you pay the adoption fee up front at the fairs in order to “put a hold” on the cat until your application is processed. If your application is not approved, your check is returned to you.

Neither cats nor kittens are sent to their new homes on the day of the fair. It usually takes 4-5 days to process the application before the cat can go to his or her adoptive home. Pre-approval is an option, though. To accelerate the adoption process, you can fax a completed application and contract to us at 703-560-9795 a few days before the fair. Adoption Applications are available on this website.

Go meet their pets

Adoption fairs are held once or twice a month at various PETCO stores in Northern Virginia. The adoption fairs are usually held on Saturday’s from 1:00 to 5:00. Between 30 and 60 cats and kittens are shown for adoption at each fair—with the larger fairs generally occurring April through October.

While they are waiting to find permanent loving homes, our cats temporarily live in foster homes. The foster families bring the cats and kittens to the adoption fairs to be seen by potential adopters. Applicants have the opportunity to handle the cats and in some cases, meet the foster parents who can provide additional insight into a cat’s habits and personality.
