My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

[Scene opens with soft, uplifting music. The camera zooms in on a tiny, adorable kitten with bright eyes and a soft, fluffy coat. It’s Billie, the smallest of her litter.]

Narrator (gentle and warm):
In a world full of big adventures, sometimes the smallest hearts have the most room for love... Meet Billie.

[Cut to Billie hesitantly exploring a cozy room, her tiny paws padding softly on the floor. Her eyes sparkle with curiosity.]

Narrator:
Billie may be the littlest of her litter, but she’s got the biggest heart, and each day, she’s growing braver and braver, discovering the world around her with wonder.

[Scene shows Billie cuddling up with her siblings, then gently moving closer to her foster mom, seeking affection.]

Narrator:
At first, she was shy, unsure of the world. But now, Billie is learning the joy of snuggles and companionship, seeking out warmth and love from the people around her.

[Cut to Billie nestled in her foster mom’s arms, purring contentedly as she drifts off to sleep.]

Narrator (softly):
She’s discovering that the best adventures aren’t just about exploring the world – they’re about finding someone who will hold you close and make you feel safe.

[Billie looks up with her big, trusting eyes, curling up closer, her little body relaxed with love and contentment.]

Narrator:
Billie’s journey is just beginning, and with your love, she’s ready to take the next step… into your heart.

[Scene transitions to Billie being gently cradled in a loving lap, her tiny paws resting peacefully.]

Narrator (tenderly):
The smallest kitten with the biggest potential for love… will you be the one to give her the forever home she’s dreaming of?

[The screen fades to the words: “Adopt Billie. A little love can go a long way.”]

Narrator:
Billie… she’s small in size, but her love is boundless. Will you be the one to help her grow?

[The music swells, leaving a feeling of warmth and hope as the screen fades to black.]

Billie's estimated birthdate is 10/8/24. She must be adopted with one of her sisters, her mom, or another kitten or be adopted into a home that already has a kitten under 2 years old. Billie has shown interest in the dog at her foster home, but keeps her distance. She is current on age appropriate vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped. She will need to be spayed when she is old enough.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

At the adoption fairs, if you meet a kitten or cat that you want to adopt, you will be asked to complete an application and contract and leave a check for the adoption fee ($120 for an adult or $145 for un-neutered kitten of which $50 is a deposit that is refunded after you provide 4Paws proof of sterilization). We ask that you pay the adoption fee up front at the fairs in order to “put a hold” on the cat until your application is processed. If your application is not approved, your check is returned to you.

Neither cats nor kittens are sent to their new homes on the day of the fair. It usually takes 4-5 days to process the application before the cat can go to his or her adoptive home. Pre-approval is an option, though. To accelerate the adoption process, you can fax a completed application and contract to us at 703-560-9795 a few days before the fair. Adoption Applications are available on this website.

Go meet their pets

Adoption fairs are held once or twice a month at various PETCO stores in Northern Virginia. The adoption fairs are usually held on Saturday’s from 1:00 to 5:00. Between 30 and 60 cats and kittens are shown for adoption at each fair—with the larger fairs generally occurring April through October.

While they are waiting to find permanent loving homes, our cats temporarily live in foster homes. The foster families bring the cats and kittens to the adoption fairs to be seen by potential adopters. Applicants have the opportunity to handle the cats and in some cases, meet the foster parents who can provide additional insight into a cat’s habits and personality.
