Peach - exactly as her name implies, an absolute PEACH! A gentle and sweet 2 year old with sooo much love to give. A quick learner, snuggle bug, and lover of kisses. Once you earn her trust, which only took 2 days of love and snuggles, she is super obedient and calm. Peach is a lovely dog (and a previous mother!) who anyone with a big heart will absolutely adore!
Personality & Characteristics: Peach is the most pretty girl with hazel eyes that make her so precious. She prefers to be near her caretaker, but is obedient when you ask her to go on the couch or in another space. We are working on separation anxiety by getting her more comfortable with the crate during the day, but she sleeps quietly in it at night w/ no issues! Peach requires and deserves gentle love, consistency and patience, we think her previous home was scary :( She warms up quickly and once that happens, she is quick to learn new tricks and behaviors! Within 5 days of fostering her she overcame her fear of the crate, new people coming into the home, going down the stairs and learned SIT! She is potty trained and will let you know when she wants to go outside. A quick, obedient learner and lover of belly rubs, she really is a PEACH!
Good with: Other dogs of all sizes, have not tested on children or cats. She gets scared and may growl around very big dogs (cane corso size) but is never ever physically aggressive.
My foster dog is: Crate trained (reluctantly, we're working on it), potty trained and low shed
3 Keywords for your pup: Sweetie, Intelligent, Loving
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): Peach is a 4, she likes to sleep most of the time but is adventurous on her walks. She is recovering from heartworm treatment and is perking up more every day.
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Very quiet!
Walking Manners: Polite and calm, when she's ready to go home she might pull a little, but responds well when you tell her no.
Appetite: Loves food! Treat driven which makes her easy to train, she eats all of her standard food with no issues. She will not beg for your table food.
Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above) Has separation anxiety, we are working on that and making progress. Good in the bath. Not nervous outside. Will test car soon.
Favorite Things: Snuggles, head rubs, walks in nature, peanut butter and all treats, her rope toy
Commands/Tricks: Learning SIT, DOWN. Knows NO and LEAVE IT, responds very well to these. Will jump up on the couch if you say COUCH.
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea.
