Journey is a cute and sassy paint gelding! We don`t have a full picture of Journey`s history, but we do know that he was pulled from an auction about two years ago and has been living with his herd ever since. Journey has some arthritis in his knees which make him best suited for a companion-only home where he can be a friend to horses and humans alike.

Journey has some spunk but is a good listener and is eager to please. He leads calmly to and from turn out in just a regular halter and cotton lead rope. He is a flexible horse who has easily lived outside 24/7 with access to a run-in shed as well as come into a stall at night with day turnout. He can be reasonably playful in his paddock but is mostly just out there to have a good roll and eat! We have turned him out with geldings and mares and he has been a bit of a bully to some of our more sensitive horses, but has found himself as the follower in his current pairing, so we`d place him toward the middle of the average herd order.

He can be groomed, bathed, fly sprayed, and will wear a blanket! He still needs a bit of TLC as he has a bad case of rain rot, but with consistent grooming and access to shelter, it should clear up in time. Journey was even the lucky recipient of a massage while in our care which he really seemed to enjoy.

Journey is patient for basic vet care, but does reqiure a skilled handler to help him stand for the farrier. He will get better with practice!
