My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brynn!

Brynn is a 3-year-old, energetic dog who loves spending time outdoors and exploring her surroundings. She's affectionate with her people and gets so excited to see them, often showing her love with enthusiasm and smiles. Brynn has become a shelter staff favorite, always keeping us entertained with her silly antics and making us laugh every day.

Brynn has been known to be protective of her family, so we recommend slow introductions with new people to help her feel more comfortable. The same approach should be taken when introducing her to other dogs, as she can be selective and benefits from gradual, supervised interactions.

Brynn would benefit from someone who can help improve her leash manners. Due to her puppy-like energy, she would thrive in a home with a large backyard or with individuals who lead an active lifestyle. She would do best in a home as the only pet, where she can receive all the attention and focus she deserves

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Brynn's person? Apply today!

TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting!

Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only.

Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be following-up with the chosen adopter. If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
