Moose is a beautiful 4-year old female kitty who was surrendered to the HSOV on January 17, 2025 along with her three housemates (Milo, Randy, and Spook) because their mistress had passed away recently, and her beloved cats became homeless.
Moose has a brown short smooth coat in a marbled tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and a pretty face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.
A family member who was familiar with Moose and her housemates told us that Moose (affectionately called 'MooMoos') can co-habitate with other animals though she often exhibits a 'cat-t-tude' toward other animals. Moose had been an indoor-outdoor kitty in her previous home.
Moose was given vaccinations, Pyrantel wormer, and Advantage Multi treatment on January 20, 2025. She weighed 7.4 lbs that day.
Moose and her friends had been in the home with their mistress all of their lives, so we can only imagine how this has turned their world upside down and wondering why they are now in shelter cages.
Moose will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on January 27th) and will soon be ready to find another home with someone to love her again.

The HSOV Adoption application is available at our shelter during normal hours of operation and may also be completed online via our website.

Shelter management reviews applications for approval. If approved, potential adopters will be notified.

Take the Pet Home
All HSOV dogs and cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted and going to their new home.

Our adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted.
Adoption fee for dogs is $150.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, dog tag, microchip, and spay/neuter.
Adoption fee for cats is $40 and includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, and spay/neuter. Most adult cats (and kittens over 3-months of age) have already been spayed/neutered.
Adoption fees for other species varies.

We work very hard with our rescue groups to move our animals quickly and safely. We do this because we work for those who have no voice.
