Shorty is a lovable pup with a big personality unlike his name. Despite his short size, he has a heart that will fill a your home and family! Known for his endless hugs, sweet kisses, and undying affection, Shorty is the ultimate lap dog who thrives on love and companionship.

Shorty will quickly become the star of his forever home. His favorite activities include curling up on laps, showering his humans with snuggles, and wagging his tail at every kind word. Whether he's out for a stroll or simply lounging, Shorty’s motto is simple: “Big love comes in small packages.”

Shorty reminds everyone that the best things in life are rescued, and he never misses an opportunity to bring joy to those around him.

Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!

Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants.

The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Paws Crossed is a private organization which relies solely on donations, grants and fundraising events for our income; we do not receive any Federal, State or Local assistance.

We are dedicated to being a true no-kill rescue. This means we will only euthanize for terminal illness or irreversible suffering. We are committed to saving as many lives as we can, while also providing the best possible environment for the pets in our care.
