Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet TRIPP, he is a young White Crested Ridgeback male that is around 1.5 years old.
This cheeky, wild hair sweetheart was a shelter pull in early 2024 with two of his friends after they (and many other animals) were taken in by animal control due to deplorable living conditions. It seems he was dealing with prior trauma when he first came into our care, and it is even possible that he still has a little PTSD from his prior life as we've been working with him on getting more comfortable when being picked up. We have noticed that putting him in his snuggle sack has helped tremendously with making him more comfortable being picked up and has led to earning his trust along the way. He loves nose boops, pea flakes, and stacking cups filled with forage.
He had a tough time finding his perfect match in our rescue at first, but we were certain he would find a piggy that fit his needs, and he finally found that in baby Palmer!
If you're interested in this hilarious popcorning duo and have room in your heart (and home), please use the link below to apply:
Please be aware that we are working with Adopt-A-Pet to resolve an issue with the "Apply to Adopt" button on our piggy profiles. Currently, it opens a blank page due to an incorrect insertion of "amp;" in the link (between the & and m). If you delete "amp;" from the link and hit enter, it will direct you to our adoption application. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the link provided above into your browser.
If you are hesitant about adopting a guinea pig or are unsure if they are the right fit for your family, consider fostering a pair instead. By joining our Foster Program, you will be helping more guinea pigs in need of care. We are a small 501c3 foster-based rescue that relies on foster homes to provide care for these piggies. Together, we can make a difference and save lives! We are in DESPERATE NEED of foster homes. Tripp and Palmer are one of the pairs looking for a foster home while waiting to be adopted. If you are interested in our fostering program, please apply using the link provided below or contact us for more information at somdguineapigrescue@gmail.com.
** ALL VOLUNTEER FOSTERS ARE PROVIDED WITH A CAGE AND NECESSARY SUPPLIES. IN RETURN WE ASK THAT OUR VOLUNTEER FOSTERS SUPPLY FRESH WATER, CLEAN CAGES, AND FRESH VEGGIES DAILY. ** We ask that volunteer fosters be within 50 miles of Hughesville, MD.

More about this rescue
We are a small foster based guinea pig rescue in Southern Maryland. Our 501c3 nonprofit rescue's mission is to educate the public on proper guinea pig care and husbandry as pet stores often misinform the public about cage size, nutrition, what is and is not safe, and guinea pigs are often mis sexed or sick at pet stores which leads to guinea pigs being surrendered or worse, abandoned outside. By adopting from rescues like ours, it helps to ensure adopters won't have surprise/unwanted pregnancies, unhealthy piggies, mis sexed guinea pigs while also helping guinea pigs to stay in their furever homes!
