Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Beef is a gentle giant who loves being close to his people. He’s easy to leash and walks well with staff and volunteers alike -even when passing by groups of people and other dogs.
He enjoys pets and with a wagging tail will chase toys and play!
Beef knows “sit,” takes treats gently, and is very treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. While he can get a little jumpy out of excitement, he remains gentle. Beef is looking for a loving home where he can feel secure and learn a few more tricks!
Eligible for rescue and adoption. Meet Beef at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Behavior notes:
01/25/2025 volunteer notes: Beef was very easy for leashing! He walks well on leash with just minimal pulling. He’s a super loose boy and very affectionate- takes pets all over and easy for handling! He knows sit and take treats very gently. Seems very treat motivated! He’s a bit jumpy just out of excitement but was gentle with handling. Very sweet and tolerant boy, no issues returning to kennel even having to pass several people and dogs to get back
01/25/2025 staff notes:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Beef was up on the door alert barking when the handler approached. Eh got down and had soft eyes and tucked tail. He sniffed the leash curiously and allowed easy leashing.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally – fearful on leash – walked past children, large groups of people, and reactive dogs
HANDLING :
In the room, Beef stuck by the handler that took him out and was velcro’ed to her side. He allowed all handling from them and was focused on playing with her. He had a loose body and wagging tail. He would whine and cry whenever she left and came over to me with a tucked tail and tolerant pets but was this preferred person. Once his main handler came back into the room, he went running to her with a loose body and mid level wagging tail. He jumped all over, playing with her and accepting treats. He takes treats very gently and sits patiently for them. He is a very gentle giant and a sweet anxious boy overall.
