BACKGROUND: Karma and Squeaker were found on the street as kittens by a Good Samaritan who took them home and raised them… until her landlord found out and said they had to go. She reached out to The Rescue House to ask for our help.
PERSONALITY: These boys are super sweet and snuggly. They need some time to adapt to new environments and they don’t like loud noises, having grown up in a very quiet home. Once they settle in and get to know you, they will smother you with love and purrs! ---Karma is a certified loverboy who perfectly balances his dual modes of playful and cuddly. His favorite toys are an electronic feather stick and little rattly mice, and he never wants to go to bed when it’s time for lights out. Too much to do! But he’ll purr like crazy when he’s in your lap and loves pets all over, especially belly rubs. He likes to be tucked in close with you in the blankets for cuddle/TV time. If you put a cat-directed livestream on the screen, Karma clearly finds birds and squirrels more fascinating than fish. ---Squeaker is a social fellow who comes to greet you and will run and play around all day. He finds great fun in playing “tag, you’re it!” with Karma and will gleefully wrestle with his brother when not going after anything on a wand. Squeaker likes the sound of his own voice and is a bit of a chatterbox. He’ll notify you if a meal is late or when the litterbox is dirty and needs scooping by talking AT you. He has a directness in his interactions, and will even place his paw in your hand when sitting with you. Late afternoon into evenings are his favorite time for cuddles.
COMPATIBILITY: Karma and Squeaker make a great duo if you’re looking for one! They love playing with each other and are also good with other cats. We don’t know their thoughts on dogs. Younger or high energy children would not be a good fit. They like things calm. Older quiet-natured kids who understand this need might be all right.
