My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Emily. I may seem a little shy when we first meet, but that's just because I'm still getting to know you. I promise, once I warm up to you, I'll be the sweetest companion. I'm quite mellow, preferring quiet moments over loud noises. I enjoy gentle pets, they make me purr and feel loved. I've seen many seasons pass, and I've learned to appreciate the simple joys of life. I'm not looking for much, just a loving home where I can spend my golden years. I may be a senior, but I have so much love left to give. I believe that every cat deserves a second chance at love, and I'm no exception. Adopting me means giving a senior cat a chance to experience the love and care that every cat deserves.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
