Meet Hans Gruber, a 2-year-old male dog with a heart full of sweetness! Hans is a shy and bashful boy who’s looking for a patient and loving family to help him build his confidence. Though he may take a little time to warm up, his gentle nature and soft eyes will melt your heart. Hans absolutely adores his stuffed toys and can often be found happily carrying them around or snuggling with them for comfort. He would thrive in a calm, understanding home where he can continue to blossom at his own pace. If you're ready to offer this sweet soul the care and support he deserves, please fill out an adoption application on our website at www.metrodetroitanimals.org. Hans is waiting to meet his forever family—could it be you?
For current adoption fees, please see our website, www.metrodetroitanimals.org. Adoption fee includes: age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, ID tag, fecal / worming, basic physical and behavior assessment. Dogs (6 months and older) receive an occult heartworm test. For an additional $20, cats (12 weeks and older) can be tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) / FLV (feline leukemia).

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD) brings a little more love into the world by celebrating the special bond between an animal and their “person.” At FAMD, we don’t just rescue dogs and cats, we make life-changing connections with the people who adopt them.
We bring our passion and animals into the community with events that help bring together dogs and cats with loving people. And our outreach programs help promote education and animal welfare legislation locally, so that fewer animals have to spend another minute waiting for their forever home.
FAMD’s new state-of-the-art Animal Adoption and Education Center at 16121 Reckinger Road in Dearborn offers animals comfortable housing and medical support. It’s where our staff and volunteers work every day to make Metro Detroit a happier, more loving place for both two-legged and four-legged creatures alike.
