My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Spino was brought in by his previous owner on November 20, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Spino, an energetic and playful pup who's always ready for some fun! Spino is a treat-motivated, quick learner who already knows a few commands, including sit, stay, shake, lay down, and even roll over. He's a pro at fetch and would love a family who enjoys daily, active playtime and outdoor adventures. He's a big fan of enrichment like Kongs and puzzle toys to help wear him out mentally as well. Spino is all about belly rubs and will happily roll over for a good scratch! His excitement is contagious, but because of his high energy and eagerness, he'll need a family with some patience to help him with his manners. He's definitely an excitable guy, and will need a home without young children who may be overwhelmed by his enthusiastic nature. If you're looking for a fun, active companion who loves to play, learn, and be loved, Spino might just be the perfect fit for you!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Spino is now ready for his new home!

Excitable Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
