My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Matcha!
Matcha is approximately 2 years old, and she weighs 55 lbs! As anyone can see, this girl is absolutely gorgeous!
However, her life before becoming an SPR dog wasn’t a pretty picture at all. Matcha was a stray who was saved by a wonderful family who then reached out to Sandi Paws to find the forever home she deserves!
She’s looking for her perfect family! She’s looking for YOU!

Matcha has so many wonderful things going for her! She is crate trained and potty trained. She walks politely on a leash and enjoys loading up for a car ride!

Matcha is very sweet and affectionate with all humans. She has experience living with small children aged 1-5 years old, and they loved her as much as she loved them!
Matcha wants to be touching her humans at all times, so she struggles with remembering not to jump up on people! She is enjoys cuddles, snuggles and kisses more than anything! She needs to continue learning how to be affectionate with all four paws on the floor!

Matcha is very timid when meeting new dogs. She had made other doggy friends and is quite comfortable around them once she knows them as a friend, but she needs very slow, proper, and safe introductions to new dogs! She would prefer other dogs to give her space, as she is fearful of dogs who rush to get in her face.

Matcha also needs to have her own separate space in her new home for meal times. She will resource guard her food from other dogs, due to her past life experiences when she struggled without safety and security in regards to food.
She eats her meals in her crate, without other dogs present, and she has had no problems with resource guarding otherwise!

Matcha deserves a loving and patient home in which she has time to open up and feel safe and comfortable. She is a beautiful dog with a loving and loyal personality, and she deserves people who can see her for the treasure she is!

Additional adoption info

A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.

Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
