Hi there, I’m Astri, a pretty little Chihuahua mix 2 years old, 9.8 lbs and I was picked up as a stray dog in South Texas near the Mexico border. I’m a medium-energy girl, a bit shy at first, but oh so loving. My foster mom calls me a cuddle-bug, affectionate and sweet, not really the kissy type, but I dote on my people. I am friendly with other dogs, enjoy a bit of playtime, and chewing occasionally on chew toys. I’m easy-peasy, well-behaved, already housebroken, only bark to alert, don't guard anything, no separation anxiety, happy to go for a walk or go for a ride in the car, and I do ok in a crate but don't need to be in one. I have free-range status in my foster home so I can do what I want, sleep where I want, which is usually a dog bed, and you will see my face light up at mealtime. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! Inquire about me today!

Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
