My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At just 6 months old, Honey is still a puppy! Full of potential, eager to learn, and deserving of a loving home. But shelter life is taking a toll on her, and she needs out now. This smart, trainable girl is craving the structure and routine that only a dedicated home can provide.
We don't know what Honey's first few months were like, she came in as a stray, but we do know she's struggling in the kennel. She's having a tough time meeting other dogs and needs guidance on proper leash manners. Because of this, she's looking for an adult-only home that will be patient, invest in professional training, and help her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be.
Honey is a good girl who doesn't belong in a shelter. She deserves to enjoy her puppyhood in a home where she can thrive. Let's get this girl out of here and into the life she deserves!

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
