My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Max, a senior dog with a heart full of warmth and kindness. His friendly nature is infectious, spreading joy wherever he goes. Despite his age, Max still has a playful spirit. He loves engaging in a good game of fetch or a leisurely walk around the park. Max`s loyalty knows no bounds. He`s the kind of dog who`ll stick by your side through thick and thin, offering comfort and companionship. Max has so much love to give, and he`s just waiting for the right person to share it with. Adopting Max means gaining a faithful friend, a confidant, a source of unconditional love. Max isn`t just a dog; he`s a companion for life. Give Max a chance, and he`ll show you what true friendship looks like.

Max will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We don’t know how he will do with cats.

Max is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today!

More about this shelter

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter in Southern Idaho. Serving all of Canyon County, and surrounding areas. We take in the stray, surrendered, abandoned, neglected animals in our community. In 2017, we took in 7,778 animals. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance.

We contract with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County to house stray and owner surrender animals that their ACO's, or the general public, bring to us.
