Kanu is an affectionate and friendly pup who loves meeting people, whether they’re familiar faces or strangers. He’s happy to let people pet him and has a gentle approach to both men and women, as well as children. He warms up quickly and even rolls over to show his belly when he’s feeling close to someone. He’s also comfortable being picked up, making him a joy to handle.
When it comes to other dogs, Kanu is polite and easygoing. He’ll often approach new dogs to say hello but generally prefers to sniff and move on rather than engage in play. He tends to enjoy his own company more than rough-and-tumble activities with other dogs. While he isn’t intimidated by larger dogs, he gravitates toward those his size or smaller. If an overly energetic dog gets too close, Kanu might let out a little growl to set boundaries, but he never escalates the situation. He’s also the type to remove himself from a conflict if another dog tries to provoke him, and he usually isn’t overly interested in other dogs in general.
Kanu is currently living with a cat and gets along well.
His energy level is just right—he loves spending time outdoors, enjoying leisurely walks and sniffing everything around him. After an outing, he’s happy to wind down in his space and relax quietly. Kanu is a great walking companion who follows along nicely on a leash without pulling.
This mellow boy has excellent manners. He doesn’t guard his food from people or other dogs, and he’s patient enough to wait if another dog gets to the food first. Kanu doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety and is incredibly quiet—he rarely barks. He’s also a champ in a kennel, staying calm and composed. Kanu is a fan of outdoor potty breaks, so he’s best suited for a home where he can enjoy regular time outside.
