Story
1/29/25 Poppy is a Beagle mix. She may be around 5 years old or so. We’re not sure. She came into foster 2 years ago after being pulled from the euthanasia list at County. She was going to be euthanized for biting a volunteer who mishandled her. She has not even so much growled at her foster family. She’s very skidding, but she’s learned to trust so much more since she was brought into the rescue. She was terrified of everyone & everything. She’s been in a foster home with other dogs, but she really should be an only dog. She seems terrified of the other dogs often, but she will get into a scuffle with them out of fear, so she should be an only dog. She also seems to really want to get closer and snuggle more with her foster mom, but with all the other dogs she really is too scared to. She’ll sneak up when the other dogs aren’t around, but she’ll take off when the other dogs come around. Poppy has been in a house with cats, and she doesn’t seem interested in them. She doesn’t bark, growl, sniff or stare at them. They have always been kept separated, but can see each other. If you have a cat, I would be careful on the introduction and not leave them alone together until you are positive they will be safe. Poppy could really use some basic training. She is terrified of the leash & even having a collar. Her foster thinks she was dragged on a leash & that was when she bit the person at County. It will take patience and time to help her with this. She uses the doggy door. She’ll also hold it, if she’s locked in while the landscaper or pool person is at the foster’s house. She has never had an accident at the foster family’s home. She’s very gentle when taking a treat. She’s used to free feeding and she doesn’t fight over food (resource guarding). She will actually sit back and wait to eat after others eat. She’s also patient to wait for her treats. The foster taught her to sit for treats. She will wait in a seated position until her turn. Poppy is super sweet and just needs a chance to be an only dog and be spoiled rotten.

Story
Meet Scooter a 5 year old neutered male available for adoption.Scooter needs to be an only dog. The ideal family for Scooter (formerly Milo) will be one who will provide structure and consistency, and to monitor his interaction with other animals, as he has shown aggressive tendencies. Scooter has been returned to our care due to the death of his owner. Milo is an energetic pup and a strong guy on the leash (he previously lived in a home with a big back yard where he loved to run around and bark at feral cats and wild animals). The adoption fee for a 5 year old is $200.

Story
Meet Kinley!Kinley is a 7 year old beagle girl who is looking for a new home due to a change in their family`s circumstances. Kinley is originally from Hungary. She has been with her family since coming to the US as a rescue at 9 months old. She loves people, kids, and does well around babies as well! According to her owners, Kinley does well around other dogs and is extremely playful with other dogs and can play rough, so we like to keep a close eye on her during play time.Kinley does suffer from anxiety, though it has improved immensely as she has gotten older and learned to trust her humans. She has been known to break out of `typical` wire and plastic kennels, so she has a heavy duty metal kennel to keep her safe and secure. Sounds such as whistles, bells, thunder, fireworks, and any sports playing in the background will trigger her anxiety. She doesn`t like being left alone in new environments until she gets used to it. She will possibly tear up her bedding or soil it while panting. This all only happens if anything was to trigger her anxiety.Normal days she is the calmest beagle and likes to be super lazy and lay next to her owner or in the same room. She loves being outdoors and smelling/hunting everything. She enjoys sunbathing in the sun. Afraid of water (pools) and will jump over a puddle like a diva. She does very well when being groomed. She loves playing catch outside. She knows how to sit, roll over, give paw, lay down, stand up, and when we say go home (kennel) she will. She is potty trained and is used to being let outside several times per day.The best home for Kinley is one where her person (or people!) are home with her for most of the day. She is very lazy in the house, but when outside she likes to small everything, bark at other dogs, and play catch. She will pull on the leash and does best with a no-pull harness.

Story
Hi, I`m Alice! I am a senior beagle that found myself at the animal shelter. Nice friends from Arizona Beagle Rescue scooped me up, got me to the vet, now I`m back to taking my medicine (I`m a diabetic, you see, but tolerate my shots very well!). I am very happy with my foster mom and doggie siblings, but I am still looking for a home of my own. Do you think you might be that home?Luv,Alice

Story
Hi beagle friends,Bruno here! I am a 3 year old beagle boy who is looking to find myself a new home! A nice family saved me from the euthanasia list and I`m lovin` life with them but they said I deserve a fur-ever home. Here`s a little about me:I am a fun-loving, mild mannered dog. I love my people and will cry/bark if they leave me (but I am easily redirected). My foster mom says I`m excellent on a leash and I have to say, I do love myself a good car ride! I`m a very good car rider!I do take medication to reduce my separation anxiety and manage my seizures. As long as I stay on my medication, my vet says I`m a good boy and the seizures aren`t a big deal (I do get a little confused and disoriented when coming out of a seizure but that`s it). I`m good with other dogs, cats, and kids/adults of all ages. I sleep in my kennel at night and roam the house freely during the day. I am a little shy when I meet new people but quickly warm up. I love toys - balls and harder chew toys are some of my favorites. What do you think, do you have room on your couch for me? If you are interested in meeting me, please hop over to the website and fill out an application today! https://azbeaglerescue.com/adopt/adoption-processLuv,Bruno
