Story
Meet Estrella!
Estrella is a 1-year-old, 15-pound Beagle mix from the San Diego/Mexico area, and she’s settling into suburban life in northern New Jersey like a champ!
This little lady is a true lap dog who loves nothing more than cuddling up with her people. She enjoys mealtime (especially unseasoned boiled chicken!), chasing and playing with her canine foster sister, and snuggling up with a chewy stick. She’s friendly, affectionate, and smart—quickly picking up on routines, especially when learning house training from her foster sibling. After just a few initial accidents, she caught on fast and now prefers to do her business on grassy areas.
Estrella is working on her leash skills and, while she loves to sniff and explore, she’s generally pleasant to walk with. She doesn’t pull much and tends to stay by your side, making walks enjoyable. She’s also crate-trained, happily sleeping through the night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. without a peep. When left alone for short periods during the day (up to three hours), she settles in well with no accidents.
Estrella would thrive in a medium-activity home where she can enjoy both playtime and downtime. She would do well with another friendly, well-adjusted dog or as a solo pup soaking up all the attention. While she’s confident and unbothered by her foster sibling’s occasional jealousy, she’s also happy to stand her ground when needed.
Although Estrella is great with children, she would do best in a home with older kids who can respect her space and appreciate her love for peace and quiet. She enjoys the company of the elementary-aged children in her foster home but seems to prefer a calm environment.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
