Story
Tyler is a sweet pup of 11 months old. He’s still looking for his forever home. He is a true snuggle. Loves to sit in his foster mom’s lap. He has become pretty good on the leash, although the weather has not been permitting many walks but when he does go on walks, he is calm. His favorite treats are fresh fruits and vegetables. He loves watermelon, carrots and broccoli. He is housebroken. He’s very good with other dogs and kids. He loves all people and he loves to snuggle! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Are you looking for a cuddle buddy? Do you feel like you have way too much personal space? Then wow am I the dog for you! My name’s Bandit and I’m about a year old. I think I’m a beagle mix, but I also have really pretty blue eyes. I love snuggling on the couch and running around the backyard. I’m still learning to like the car and being on a leash, but I’m coming around. I have the best recall my foster mom’s ever seen. She just says my name and I come running, no matter what I’m doing! I love squeaky toys! I’m good with dogs and cats. I haven’t met any kids up close yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I do! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Update from foster:  He is the cutest thing and so good in the house, and house broken! He didn't care about the barn cats and was curious about my ducks, but not in a harmful way. He just wanted to see what was making all that noise. Even though I turned him loose in the yard, he didn't stray far from me. He is the total package and whoever gets him will be lucky.   TRUE RESCUE STORY!!! THIS IS WHY WE FUNDRAISE AND NEED MORE FOSTER FAMILIES! DONATIONS CAN BE MADE AT OHIOBASSETRESCUE.COM. Benjamin, Franklin, Eleanore, and Betsy all came to us from a rural high kill shelter and were days from being put down. They are not related and do not need to be adopted together. All 4 beagles are severely underweight and will be given dentals before adoption. They have been spayed and neutered and up to date on all shots. They will be available to go to new homes as soon as their vetting is completed but we will begin taking apps for them. They are located in Columbus. All 4 beagles are between 14 and 19 pounds now but do need to gain weight. They will require homes with fenced in yards and their adoption fees are $250 each. Benjamin is estimated to be 2, Franklin 1, Eleanore and Betsy 3.  If you are interested in meeting one of them you MUST APPLY ONLINE FIRST. Please visit our website to apply ohiobassetrescue.com. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.    Update from foster home: Meet Franklin, our one year old foster pup! Franklin was rescued from a kill shelter along with three other beagle babies just days before being put down. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, recently neutered and will be looking for his furever home after he gains weight and has a dental. When Franklin first arrived to his foster home, he was hesitant and unsure. Now, he’s a happy, playful shadow, following me everywhere and joining in the fun with his foster pack, Louie (OBHR Pup), Hank, Roscoe & Penny. It has been incredible to watch him blossom in just a few short days. He’s a quick learner, especially when treats are involved, and has been a perfect houseguest (no potty accidents in the house). Today, he aced his first day of doggie daycare with a “perfect pawgress” report! Franklin’s vet would like us to help him gain 10 much-needed pounds before his dental so we’re showering him with love and good food every step of the way. I know whoever opens their heart and home to Franklin will be rewarded with the most genuine, unconditional love and the snuggliest cuddles imaginable. He’s a truly special pup. There are many ways to support Franklin and other pups like him! Apply to adopt or foster at www.ohiobassetrescue.com, or make a donation on the website.
