He also love to follow you around all throughout the house! His gentle nature makes him a wonderful companion for anyone seeking a loyal friend. He is great with kids and other dogs, although he doesn’t always want to play with the other dogs! My sister isn’t able to keep him inside all the time anymore, so we are looking for a home where he can be inside and loved!

Meet Cooper Davis, a 5-7 year-old, 30lb. Beagle mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Cooper and his buddy were found as strays on the streets. Although their owner was located, they were unable to continue caring for them, so now Cooper and his buddy are in CAMO's care in the Houston area, eagerly searching for their forever home. He loves humans, dogs and would be great with older kids. Will bark at cats, but not hurt them. He loves walks and human snuggles. He's doing great on potty training..consistency is key. Since he is a beagle aka love to dig and escape, would need a safe yard and eyes on him. Cooper is a happy-go-lucky boy who gets along wonderfully with other mild-mannered dogs. His gentle and friendly nature makes him a great companion for older kids, and he would be an excellent family dog. Cooper's adaptable personality means he would thrive in any loving environment. While Cooper is a smart boy who takes direction well, he will need an adopter committed to maintaining a consistent routine to continue his house training, as he was likely kept outside in the past. With patience and love, Cooper is sure to become a well-mannered and loyal companion. Cooper is heart worm positive but the rescue is treating him for it. Adoption fee is: $300.00 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Howie, now called Barney (Barnold, The Barnacle, Barniferus, Barnaby, etc.) is a sweet 1 y/o Tree Walking Coon Hound. He was found in League City, TX at a tractor supply. He is looking for his forever home and comes with a few months of heartworm preventative. He is clear and free of heartworms, though! Barney’s manners are good, given he is still a puppy! He has learned the word “no” well, but is still a puppy, and is very food motivated. He does listen well, and he is very sweet with kids and other dogs. He has a beautiful hound bay and will bark at almost any new noise to make sure you are safe. Barney loves to play with other pups and would do best in a home where another younger hound could wear him out! He gets at least one walk a day, though normally two, and is very good on the leash. He does bark at other dogs and people out of excitement, but he is never aggressive toward them. Barney is a toy dog and can often be found at night tossing his toys into the air to entertain himself. He loves puzzle toys, and tug of war/Fetch. I often have to say, “he is just a boy!” because he acts so silly. He flops down on top of you, and just does not know how big he is, he is so snuggly, and really loves to be loved on by his person. Bagel is a 7 yr old male who was found stray in Galveston last summer. He was a whopping 55 lbs when he finally made it to HBHR in the winter and now down to an impressive 42 lbs after being on a diet and exercise regimen in his foster home. Even with a slight arthritic limp on his back right leg caused by the weight he will beg for and be ready at the door for his walkies . He can be better on the leash but for weight loss purposes we sped up for him a bit. Bagel is completely house broken, including mastering a dog door. He is great with kids. He will be ok as an only dog or with canine buddies, but no cats! Oh, and a great car rider! Overall, Bagel will need a home where he can lounge around , but also commit to continuing his daily exercise and diet regimen and most importantly love him the way he deserves.

Brandy is a 3-year-old beagle with a beautiful tri-colored speckled coat. Her foster mom says she’s half beagle, half fawn! Brandy was found as a stray and has been with HBHR for several months as she learns to trust people. She’s made great progress and is ready for her forever home! Brandy loves other dogs and will need a confident dog sibling to help her adjust to her new home. She doesn’t mind cats either! New situations and loud noises make her nervous, though she’s never responded with any type of aggression. She’s house trained and showed no destructive behaviors or signs of resource guarding. She’s a quiet little lady and rarely barks, so she’ll fit into any living situation where she has access to a yard. Brandy loves being outside and exploring the backyard. She was heartworm positive at the time of her intake. She's since completed treatment and will come with several months of Advantage Multi. It will likely take Brandy some time to adjust and get comfortable in her new home. Even so, watching her confidence grow and her sweet, silly personality blossom is so rewarding. Due to her shyness, she isn’t suited to families with small children. Brandy’s forever family should be willing to give her space and time to adjust to her new home. Once settled, she’ll be an extremely sweet and loyal dog.

8 y/o Lucky is sweet beagle who loves belly rubs and treats. Although Lucky is not a skinny Beagle, he has been working hard in his foster home to lose weight and is down almost 20lbs (you should have seen him when he first arrived). He does love to eat, but he also loves to play and go on short walks. He is great with all his foster home's other four-legged creatures. He happily hangs out with large and small dogs and numerous cats. Outside he is unphased by the chicken, goats and horses on the property. He loves the young kids in his foster home as well - he loves to be petted, be around them, and to play games with his toys. He is weary of being picked up, probably because carrying around all that extra weight has been painful, but recently he has been able to start jumping up onto a couch when invited. He happily uses his dog door, is house-broken, and does not mind having to be crated occasionally.
