Story
7 year-old Dallas was an owner surrender. Despite having heart worms and kneecaps that dislocate easily, Dallas is a lively boy who loves to run after toys that are thrown! Dallas is around 15+ inches tall and a 32 pounds. Dallas is house broken with the use of a dog door. He leaves things alone except the many toys he finds to paly with! He loves to play tug of war with his foster siblings as well as beagle style fetch…you throw it and then chase after him to get it back! Dallas is a sweet, loving boy who can be very loud and vocal when crated. Both heart worm injections and knee surgery would require crate rest for a month or more for this boy. We have decided to do slow kill treatment for the heart worms with a year’s supply of Advantage Multi. Dallas will also need joint meds to make life comfortable. HBHR will pay for knee surgery if needed down the road. Apply today to give this wonderful boy a second chance at the Good Life!

Story
Amos is a 7 y/o chocolate beagle mix who came to HBHR with a large group of beagles from a hoarding situation in the summer of 2023. It has taken a long time for any of these beagles to become socialized, but Amos has finally made it! Amos has good house manners with the use of a dog door. He will occasionally mark the food bowl of another male but that is more to do with alpha status than manners! He rarely destroys toys and leaves things alone unless they have touched food in the last month! His food drive is all beagle! Amos plays well with the pack and enjoys a good chase. He is alpha and will do best in a home with a more submissive partner. Amos has only recently started allowing people to pet him and really enjoys the attention. He does well around kids and would love having young people to chase around a yard! Amos has not made it to snuggling yet but seeks out one on one attention. He will get to that point, and it would be wonderful if he has a family of his own when he is ready for that next step!

Story
Tortilla is an 8 y/o senior boy who was found stray and taken to the city shelter. At 48 pounds this boy must have found a good spot for eating when on the streets! He is down to 37 muscular pounds and can run with the pack! Tortilla tested positive for heart worms and will be adopted with the remainder of his year’s supply of Advantage Multi to complete his treatment. Tortilla is a happy boy who like to talk to you! He will let you know what is going on with his pack mates and how he is feeling! He is fully house broken and loves the dog door. Unfortunately, he also loves it when it rains so makes frequent trips outside then back in the shake!! Tortilla could barely walk when he arrived at the Bungalow. He had to sit and rest every few feet but now he loves nothing more than to run when the call goes out that there has been a critter sighting! Tortilla loves attention but is never demanding of your time. He will make a wonderful companion for someone who is committed to giving him plenty of exercise and keeping him on a diet! Please make a place in your home and heart for this boy!

Story
Holly is a 2 y/o beagle mix who was rescued from the dumping grounds near Cleveland. She is around 16 inches tall and weighs around 25 pounds. Holly had a skin infection when she was rescued. Hair is already growing back in the shaved areas. Holly also tested positive for heart worms. She has completed a month of Doxycycline and will be adopted with several months of Advantage Multi to complete the slow kill treatment. Holly arrived with good house manners and knew how to use a dog door. She rarely gets into anything that does not belong to the pack. She enjoys having toys to play with and delights in taking them out in the yard. Holly, like her sister Ivy, has worked through her possessive need to keep toys and people all to herself. She gets along well with her foster siblings and is learning to play wrestle, beagle style! She still acts protective of her kennel when waiting for food bowls to be prepared. Holly is good around kids but still wants to jump up on you. She will need more work to control that urge. She craves attention from people and will soak up all the love you have to give. She will make a wonderful dog for a family that will be home often. Holly is a diamond in the rough!

Ivy is a 2 y/o beagle mix who was rescued from the dumping grounds near Cleveland. She is around 16 inches tall and weighs around 30 pounds. Ivy arrived with good house manners and knew how to use a dog door. She loves stealing towels out of the clean towel bin and dragging blankets out of kennels. Maybe she thinks that the toys scattered all around the yard are cold! Ivy has worked through her possessive need to keep toys and people all to herself. She gets along well with her foster siblings and is learning to play wrestle, beagle style! Ivy is good around kids but still wants to jump up on you. She will need more work to control that urge. Story
Meet Forten! He’s a nine-year-old boy rescued from a shelter in Louisiana. His name in French means ‘strong’, but loyal is a more accurate description of him. Once you get to know him, he will follow you everywhere you let him and is always happy to get a hug. His markings make him look like he has white socks on all his legs. This boy has never barked while indoors at his foster home and gets along well with his foster sister. He is tall enough to check out what’s on the kitchen counter but has never been successful at nabbing anything there. He likes to nap on his dog bed and sleeps soundly in a crate at night. He is great about going outside for potty breaks, too. He likes to go for walks where he will sound out his beagle arrrooo when he catches the scent of a squirrel. Forten is a sweet and gentle dog, eager to find someone to give him the love and care he deserves. Forten is positive for heart worms and will come with several months of Advantage Multi to complete his slow kill treatment.
