Story
Animal Profile: Axel is a 2 year old husky/mal mix that was surrendered when his owner was no longer able to provide a consistent living situation for him. Axel has been well cared for, and completed a board and train with On The Mark Balanced Training. He’s social with other dogs, quite goofy in fact, and although he can be shy meeting new people he does warm up quickly and makes friends fast. Despite his breed mix, he’s not a crazy high-energy dude, but he definitely enjoys a long walk, playing in the yard, or other adventures if you’re up for them! Foster notes: Axel is a quiet loving guy who needs some consistency or routine in his life. He doesn’t ask much and is otherwise generally easy-going but becomes anxious when life feels unpredictable. Who else can relate to Axel? Axel comes with full Ecollar training from on the Mark balanced training. Rachel will go over how to use the tools, his known commands and will set you up for success as a new team. Axel is friendly with strangers but does not like to be ambushed. He warms up quickly when the guest does not force their love on him. Axel enjoys frolicking with his friends, sniffing on adventures and relaxing on his place cot while you work. Axel is crate trained, house trained and walks very nicely on leash.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, health certificate, and microchip with lifetime registration. Story
Animal Profile: Looking for a partner in crime? Meet Felon! He's around 18 months old and 55lb neutered male Belgian Malinois who is ready for a person to call his own. Despite his menacing name, this boy is a bundle of joy in a svelte package. Felon is loves to go at full speed and would be a fantastic companion for someone looking to get into dog sports -- dock diving, barn hunt, IPO -- he wants a shot to shine! In typical Malinois form, he is highly intelligent, loyal, and athletic. He shows moderate food drive and high toy drive and is an exceptionally quick learner. He does have an off switch and is content to chill on place command with a stuffy toy, or in his crate. Felon is very friendly meeting new people and has lived with other dogs as well as cats, but would likely do best in a cat-free home, or with a handler comfortable managing safe interactions with cats. Felon has a strong grasp of basic obedience training including recall, place and loose leash walking. With this foundation he's ready to shine with a family dedicated to providing ongoing mental and physical stimulation, structure and leadership.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Adopter Profile: Large breed dog experience required Working breed dog experience preferred Other dogs OK Dog savvy cats considered Secure fenced yard preferred Interest in training/dog sports  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Felon's adoption will include a go-home training session to set his future family up for success. The adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non profit organization. Animal History: Felon was rescued from a chain in Baton Rouge Louisana by Trample Dog Rescue and taken in by The Good Dog, who relocated to Bellingham. He is currently being fostered by The Good Dog Way in Bellingham and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. Potential adopters will need to be available to meet Felon in Bellingham, WA.February 28, 2025, 10:05 am

Story
Animal Profile: Roxy is a 17 week old Malinois Shepherd mix who wound up in the Stanislaus shelter as a stray, she been there since Jan 11th. The shelter staff says she's super sweet, loves other dogs and people. We can’t wait to meet her! Foster Update:  Roxy is energetic, agile, sassy girl that is absolutely incredible. She is smart, patient, persistent, and oh so snuggly. She is doing excellent with her potty training, and basic obedience. Her weakness, however, is that she is a bit jumpy and nippy when aroused. This is typical puppy and breed standards, but needs supervision around small children. She is very vocal with every type of noise, which is comical. She is making great progress with crate training, but it's still a work in progress.  She will need a strong pack leader that understands her breed. We are only considering homes with securely fenced yards, breed experience another playful dog would be a bonus.. We are not considering apartments at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus Animal Services in Modesto, CA.  She arrives in Seattle on 01/22/25 via START rescue transport and will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.February 17, 2025, 11:03 am

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Adoptable Junnie! Junnie is a 3 1/2-year-old, Malinois mix who is looking for his forever home! He has been waiting for a foster or forever home with us for 3 years and would love his happy ending to come soon! Junnie is a happy and sweet boy and loves to play and be active! He will require a very active family that has experience with working breeds. He would make a great running/ hiking partner and LOVES to play fetch. He needs to be mentally and physically stimulated so he would also do great with agility, games and nose work. Junnie is still learning how to socialize with other dogs and can be reactive and mouthy, as Malinois are, with other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home but with training and support could be fine around other dogs out and about. He will require a home with a fenced yard, no apartments. Junnie is not tested with kids but since he still needs to catch up on training and can be jumpy, he would be best in a home with older kids or adults. No cats. Junnie is on the wait list to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Rainier You can probably guess that when I was found and rescued it was raining, it was! However, I was named after the gorgeousness that is Mount Rainier :) I have the highlights and lowlights of the mountain on a sun-cloudy day :) I have a driven personality, not unlike my breed. Currently I am living my best life running around green fields of grass with my big radar ears charged and ready to go! You best believe I can hear everything! Story
Animal Profile: Kimber is a beautiful 5-year-old, 54 lb female German Shepherd who was found wandering as a stray and taken to Everett Animal Shelter. When the shelter environment was too stressful for her, we gave her a "jail break" and she's now in our foster care. Kimber has been waiting for a forever home since November 2021. Please share and help her find her forever family! Foster Update: Kimber is affectionate and bonds quickly with her person. She is looking for an adopter who is experienced with high-energy dogs and is willing to continue working with her. She loves lounging in the house and looking out the windows. Her ideal home environment would be an adult-only household with working breed experience and a securely fenced yard. She has completed a 4-week board and train program with Lugaru K9 Training to address leash reactivity. Kimber can now walk nicely on leash and knows the following commands: sit, down, place, heel and leave it. She's not a candidate for dog parks as she easily gets over aroused and needs slow introductions to other dogs.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-applicationDecember 6, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
Animal Profile: Freya is an estimated 4-year-old, 60 lb female German Shepherd who has a lot of love to give. She is smart and loves to work for you. She will thrive with a strong leader --  otherwise she is prone to anxiety. She is house trained, crate trained, fully obedience trained and will do best with a Shepherd-savvy owner capable of providing her with guidance as well as physical and mental stimulation. Freya LOVES to fetch and BALL IS LIFE. She walks well on a leash with a training collar. This loyal and affectionate girl is slow to warm up to new people and will need an owner who is comfortable managing her safe introductions to strangers, but once you earn her trust, she's very eager to please. Freya has lived with other dogs and loves to play with them; she's good with dogs big and small, male and female. At this time we are prioritizing a home for Freya with a resident dog(s) as we think she would do best in a pack. She's also been tested with cats and exhibits no prey drive, and is amusingly scared of chickens. She is currently living in a home with small children and has done well with them, but we would prefer to place her in an adult-only home.  Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Shepherd experience preferred Single family residence required (no apartments) Secure fenced yard required Other balanced dog(s) preferred Cats OK No kids preferred Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  TAKE HOME TRAINING SESSION INCLUDED WITH ADOPTION Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Freya was found as a stray in Dec 2020 in Tacoma extremely underweight (40 lbs) and very scared. She was taken into Tacoma Humane Society and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle. She was fostered with DGS for several months while she learned basic manners and gained 15 lbs. She was adopted in March 2021 and lived with a caring family. Unfortunately they lived in a condo with no secure yard in a busy urban environment, which proved too challenging for Freya with those particular owners. She was returned to DGS in April 2022 and received a professional board and train with our training partner Seattle K9 Command. She is now being fostered in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.  January 22, 2025, 5:39 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Leo fka Robb is an estimated 3-year-old male Shepherd mix who was adopted as a young puppy after we accepted him from California where he was found as a stray in a Chino dumping zone along with his sibling Sansa and mom Catelyn. He joined us in Seattle on 10/10, along with Sansa and Catelyn. Leo was returned to the rescue after a couple of years due to a divorce in the family, lacking socialization and training. He was fostered with a trainer for several weeks and is now thriving and ready for a loving forever home.  Seattle Foster Update: Leo has progressed well in his time with us as a foster. When Leo arrived to us from training he was moderately reactive, but quickly blossomed to a friendly, tail wagging, bouncy boy. Leo is in a word eccentric. He is a cuddle bug and a hermit and assumes the oddest positions imaginable to get close to his owners. He is crate trained perfectly and enjoys the safe environment the crate provides for him. If you’re unwilling to give Leo a crate then you’re not the right home for him. He needs his escape and downtime to be the best boy. Leo warms up slowly to new people and dogs, and his new owners should be selective in dog introductions as he will react if confronted and doesn’t like in your face dog encounters. He plays well with male Collie and male Malinois and he has a firm truce with our selective female Bulldog. He lives with our cats and is completely disinterested in them. So, cat friendly. Leo will never be a dog park dog. So no dog parks. We don’t have kids in the household so don’t have awareness there. He has no food aggression but he's still working on taking treats gently. Leo will be a great hiking buddy and walks beautifully on leash. He doesn’t have marked stranger danger but again the policy will likely be "please don’t pet my dog without proper introductions." Adopter Profile: Dog experience required Fenced yard required Other dog/dogs in the home a plus Cats okay Older kids okay Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org  February 27, 2025, 9:53 pm
