Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there! I’m Hershey, and I’ve got a lot of love to share! I’m a big, sweet girl (though I’m still growing—at 15 weeks, I’ve got plenty of room to get even bigger!), and I was named for my gorgeous coloring—my coat is a mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and German Shepherd, and I think it’s pretty stunning. But looks aside, I’m a doll through and through. I absolutely love being near my person, and I’m so happy and inquisitive about the world around me. I’m also an easy girl to train because I really want to please! My person has already taught me to lay in my bed and stay while they spent time with the other dog in the house. I’m very respectful of him, and I get along with other animals too. In fact, I’ve already made friends with one of the house cats! I’m curious about her, but always gentle. If she runs, though, I can’t resist chasing a little, but I promise, I’m just playing! I’m not aggressive at all.  I’m calm and laid-back, so I know I’ll be a wonderful house dog as I grow up. I enjoy our daily walks, and I’m already doing great on a leash—no pulling, just a few little circles around my person. One of my recent favorite adventures was to the lake, where I watched a whole bunch of swans do their beautiful mating dance. I was mesmerized by them! I also loved listening to the ice moving on the water. It was so peaceful, and I stayed super quiet the whole time—I'm not a barker, just a quiet observer. At home, I’m happy just being with my person. I love sleeping by their side (who wouldn’t want a snuggly companion?). I’m a Velcro dog, so I’ll always want to be near you. I’m great with other dogs that like to play, and I do okay with cats once we get to know each other. I may chase if they bolt, but it’s all in good fun! As for my future, with those big paws and all that loose skin on my neck and back, I’m going to be a BIG dog! But don’t worry—I’ll be a gentle giant. I’m so laid-back for my age, and I’ll be an amazing house dog and loyal companion. If you're looking for a dog who loves you unconditionally, enjoys being by your side, and is ready to learn and grow with you, I just might be the one for you! I’m looking for a retired couple who can give me lots of attention and take me on long walks, or a family who will spend quality time with me, playing and lounging around. I’ll make a wonderful addition to the right home—so if that sounds like you, apply soon! This sweet girl won’t last long!     Hershey is from an owner surrender. Story
Nico is a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog who is sweet, intelligent, affectionate, easy to train, and healthy. Hid DOB is 8/21/2023. He is AKC registered. The only reason I need to re-home him is because I am too short and my house is too small for such a large breed. Yes, I knew that he was going to be big when I got him. What I didn't know is that Berners like to go between your legs - a lot! I am 5 ft tall. He rams into my privates and carries me a few feet sometimes. I am in my mid fifties. This is not working. He loves to lean on me and this has caused a number of near falls (especially in the snow). I actually posted him before and then backed out because he is a great dog. Just not a great fit for me, unfortunately. He knows, sit, stay, touch, and comes to calling his name. He walks beautifully on a loose leash. He goes to the groomer with no problem. He loves car rides and hiking, and playing with our small dog and cat.
