Story
Meet Romy! Romy is a 4-year-old, 18-pound Bichon Frise. It's wonderful that Romy is getting a chance to learn how to be a dog after spending her early life in a puppy mill. To help her adjust, a quiet, low-key, and patient home is essential. Another dog's presence could be beneficial, but it's not necessary. Housebreaking and leash training will be part of her learning process. Patience and positive reinforcement training will be key to helping her become more comfortable around people and adapt to her new environment. Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Romy is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Kieran! Kieran is a 4 year old, 22 pound Bichon Frise. Kieran is a rescue from a puppy mill, and as such, is fairly skittish around people. She is fostered with other dogs her size and does well with them! Kieran is still trying to figure out what a dog is supposed to do, as leash walking, treats, and playing are all new to her. She will need a calm, patient household to help her blossom. An adopter with another confident dog would be helpful but not necessary. Are you the white knight wanting to rescue this damsel in distress? Kieran is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Kieran is a Patron Pup. Story
Winnie is a 4.5-year-old, 16-pound Bichon Frise with a gentle and reserved nature. Having come from a puppy mill, Winnie is understandably shy and finds comfort in her crate, which serves as her safe haven. She is well-trained, walking nicely on a leash, and is both crate-trained and housebroken. Winnie loves exploring the fenced-in backyard, where she feels secure. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home without small children, and she prefers to be the center of attention, enjoying the undivided love and companionship of her owner. Winnie is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet Posey! Posey is a sweet 6 year old Bichon Frise who weighs 10 pounds. She was recently rescued from a puppy mill and is so ready to leave her traumatic past behind her and enjoy the best that life has to offer! Posey is shy, curious and gentle! She has grown so much in her foster home and is well on her way to realizing what it is like to be a normal dog. She is fostered with a large dog and a cat, and does great with them both! Posey seeks comfort from their presence but is also content to show her independence. Some of Posey's favorite activities include exploring her environment, tasting yummy treats and curling up on her bed! She would benefit from a calm and quiet environment as loud noises can be startling to her. She is still working on her potty training, and uses pee pads in her foster home. She enjoys sniffing the smells of the backyard and taking in the sunshine, and would love a fenced-in backyard to do so safely! It is an extremely rewarding experience to earn this girls' trust and her future family is in for a special treat! Posey is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Trouble! Trouble is a delightful male Lhasa mix born around April 1, 2016, who was found in Spring Branch. Despite having a microchip, his previous owner chose not to reclaim him, which has truly been their loss. Trouble is an incredibly friendly senior dog who gets along with everyone and loves to play. Though he has an old injury to his eye, it doesn’t dampen his spirit. Trouble is very lovable and enjoys offering his belly for rubs, making him a favorite among the rescue team. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Tyler. I came to the ranch from the valley, where I was scheduled for euthanasia in 2013. My first parents had a young child that hit me with sticks, kicked me and hurt me. One day I decided to fight back, and I bit the child, so I ended up in the slammer. I was barely a year old, so my foster mom decided to give me a chance. My foster mom loved me. She let me sleep with her, she treated me good and let me play with toys and go for walks with her. It took me about a week to trust her, but I loved her lots.  Unfortunately I had to come back to the kennels when she couldn’t foster anymore.  My kennel mates are good friends.  We play and love each other.  But I really would like to have a real family before I go to the rainbow bridge.  I have been at the rescue since 2011, they love me, but it’s not the same.  I know it’s partly my fault.  I used to bite new people.  Hey, but the good news is I only have 4 teeth, so I can only gum you.  I have been living with Pat since I lost my teethys.  She says I am too old to be in the kennels.  For the most part this is great, but I have to share her with lots of other babies.  Mommy says she is going to find me a special forever home that will be patient and give me the time I need to get to know you. Are you the special family mommy told me about?  I have been waiting for 11 years to find my special family, but mom tells me not to worry.  Someday I will get my wish.   To adopt this dog, please fill out an application at www.adoggie4you.org.  He was born around 2/5/2013 and weighs 21 pounds.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 4:14 pm
