Story
Meet Romy! Romy is a 4-year-old, 18-pound Bichon Frise. It's wonderful that Romy is getting a chance to learn how to be a dog after spending her early life in a puppy mill. To help her adjust, a quiet, low-key, and patient home is essential. Another dog's presence could be beneficial, but it's not necessary. Housebreaking and leash training will be part of her learning process. Patience and positive reinforcement training will be key to helping her become more comfortable around people and adapt to her new environment. Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Romy is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Kieran! Kieran is a 4 year old, 22 pound Bichon Frise. Kieran is a rescue from a puppy mill, and as such, is fairly skittish around people. She is fostered with other dogs her size and does well with them! Kieran is still trying to figure out what a dog is supposed to do, as leash walking, treats, and playing are all new to her. She will need a calm, patient household to help her blossom. An adopter with another confident dog would be helpful but not necessary. Are you the white knight wanting to rescue this damsel in distress? Kieran is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Kieran is a Patron Pup. Story
Winnie is a 4.5-year-old, 16-pound Bichon Frise with a gentle and reserved nature. Having come from a puppy mill, Winnie is understandably shy and finds comfort in her crate, which serves as her safe haven. She is well-trained, walking nicely on a leash, and is both crate-trained and housebroken. Winnie loves exploring the fenced-in backyard, where she feels secure. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home without small children, and she prefers to be the center of attention, enjoying the undivided love and companionship of her owner. Winnie is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet Posey! Posey is a sweet 6 year old Bichon Frise who weighs 10 pounds. She was recently rescued from a puppy mill and is so ready to leave her traumatic past behind her and enjoy the best that life has to offer! Posey is shy, curious and gentle! She has grown so much in her foster home and is well on her way to realizing what it is like to be a normal dog. She is fostered with a large dog and a cat, and does great with them both! Posey seeks comfort from their presence but is also content to show her independence. Some of Posey's favorite activities include exploring her environment, tasting yummy treats and curling up on her bed! She would benefit from a calm and quiet environment as loud noises can be startling to her. She is still working on her potty training, and uses pee pads in her foster home. She enjoys sniffing the smells of the backyard and taking in the sunshine, and would love a fenced-in backyard to do so safely! It is an extremely rewarding experience to earn this girls' trust and her future family is in for a special treat! Posey is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Sebastian - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Omgosh folks, we have got the cutest overload going on with this lil guy looking for a home to call his very own. I am Sebastian, and I'm around 4-5 months old and super sweet, loving and not to mention, I'm playful too! Nothing better then exploring this big ole world and playing with my siblings. I only come in at around 6lbs and should be right about the 10lb area when I get myself fully growed up. Because of my size I'd do best in a home without small kiddos. I would do great with a playful furry 'sibling' to chase around stealing...err I meant sharing toys! Although I haven't met any of those creatures y'all call a cat yet but introduced properly at my tender age I should do just fine with them too! I've got a whole bunch of love in this whittle bitty body to give. And it could be YOU that is lucky enough to be on the receiving end, you just need to fill out my adoption application!! It can be found at haydudeequine.org

Meet Lilly! Lilly is a 4-month-old, 5lb, Maltese Pomeranian mix who loves to be cuddled up in your lap! Her superpowers include being extremely lovable, snuggling, and sticking right by your side. She's still unsure about walking on a leash but will get there quickly with reassurance. In terms of house training, she's currently using pee pads but I'm sure she would learn to go outside easily with some reassurance. Some of her favorite things are squeaky toys, carrying her toys around the house, and playing with other dogs her size. She loves greenie treats ! If you're looking for a companion who loves to be by your side and cuddles like a pro she might be your perfect match! Lilly is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Story
Meet Butternut! Butternut is an adorable 4-month-old, 9 pound Maltese/Pomeranian mix. Butternut is the definition of fluffy, with beautiful pure white hair and a tail that corkscrews up over his back like a little pom-pom. Rescued from a puppy mill, Butternut didn't have the greatest start in life, but he got out when he was young enough that he doesn't show any signs of emotional or physical damage. He is playful, affectionate and loves people. At 9 pounds, he is on the larger side for a Maltipom, which are small dogs. He is being fostered with a 4-year-old female Bassett Hound, and his two puppy mill and foster companions. While in foster care, Butternut has shown to be friendly with people, children, and other dogs. He is an active puppy. He loves to run, play and romp with his puppy and dog friends in foster care. Once he tires of that, he likes to sit with his foster mom on the couch and snuggle. Butternut thinks of himself as a watch dog. If he encounters new or unknown things, he will let you know about it. But he settles down quickly once the unknown has been identified. Other than that, he is pretty quiet. Butternut is doing excellent at learning to use puppy pads and is working on his potty training. He also rides well in a car! In short, Butternut is just a sweet, affectionate, cooperative and friendly little dog that would be a great addition to most familiies. If you think you're the right family/individua to give Butternut the home he deserves, please apply today. He won't disappoint! He is fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio. His adoption fee is $450. Butternut is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees.
