Story
Meet Jerry, a one-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise with a soft, fluffy white coat, weighing in at just 4kg. This little guy might be a bit reserved at first, but offer him a treat, and he’ll quickly warm up to you! He’s not naturally the type to rush up to new people, but that’s simply due to a lack of experience rather than shyness. Once he settles into a home environment, his confidence will blossom. He’s comfortable with being picked up, handled, and groomed, making him an easy companion to care for. Jerry is a social pup when it comes to other dogs! He happily greets both familiar and new canine friends, always ready to play. However, he’s quite the gentle soul—if a big, excitable dog like a Retriever charges toward him, he might let out a startled yelp and scurry away. Even when smaller dogs get pushy, Jerry’s too sweet to stand up for himself. He finds comfort in the presence of other dogs and feels much more at ease when he has a canine friend around. Because of this, he may be prone to separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. His experience with cats hasn’t been observed yet, but he can be tested to see how he reacts. Jerry has a moderate energy level—he enjoys outdoor activities but knows how to settle down and relax afterward. Since he hasn’t had much practice with walks, new or sudden sights and sounds can make him freeze and lie flat on the ground. With gentle encouragement and more exposure, he’ll grow more confident over time. Food is never an issue for Jerry—he’s happy to share with both people and other dogs, showing no signs of resource guarding. While he doesn’t currently have severe separation anxiety, his strong attachment to other dogs suggests that it could develop if left alone too often. When he wants something, he isn’t shy about using his voice to express it, sometimes barking to get attention. He’s familiar with both pee pad and outdoor potty training, but in a new environment, some reinforcement may be needed. With his sweet, gentle nature and love for both people and dogs, Jerry is looking for a home where he can feel secure and build his confidence. If you’re looking for an affectionate little companion with a heart full of love, Jerry might just be the perfect match! Story
Meet Ozzie (formerly Bear)! A charming 2-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise with a soft, fluffy white coat. Weighing 4.8kg, this little guy is as sweet as he is adorable. He's currently in Orillia, ON. Little Ozzie is so friendly with all people, not at all shy or hesitant with kids or strangers. He eagerly gives greetings and kisses to everyone. He’d love to be with children and other dogs his age and size who have lots of energy to play and be social. He can be nervous with bigger dogs. He’d love to be with one or two very social dogs in the home so that his wonderful social skills are rewarded. He has an adorable little snore and he’s the cuddliest boy to nap with. If you brush him, he’ll fall asleep on you (unless he's frisky). He's hilarious when he gets zoomies. Still working on housetraining, he does well going outside with routine potty breaks, and uses pads inside. Ozzie does not like to be crated, but he likes sleeping in his travel bag on the bed beside his person. This is his safe space. He will eventually sleep on the family bed or in his own bed on the floor as long as he’s not roaming the house at night as he will get into things, he’s just like a brand new puppy. For now, he enjoys his bedtime routine with the closeness of his humans and the comfort of his soft-shell carrier (it’s small and doesn’t make any clanging noises like a metal crate, which startles him); this routine keeps him feeling safe. He is a curious fellow and likes to explore his environment. He also enjoys being carried around in a fancy shoulder bag if you're shopping at pet store or going for a car ride, and yes, he’s wonderful in the car; he usually just sleeps. Ozzie is getting used to being enclosed in a large playpen, and has come a long way with spending moments on his own. This helps him with self-amusement and self-soothing, but he’s not ready to be left alone yet. Someone who works from home would be ideal, or retired couple who’d enjoy spoiling him with all the attention he could handle. Still adapting to the leash, and is good with the harness, but needs some practice/training to be less reactive to the collar and leash. Experience with rescue dogs should be considered. He’s very smart and willing to learn, but he requires much time and patience with training and adjusting to people leaving the room/home. He’s very food motivated so that can help with training, as long as he doesn’t get over-fed. He does very well with verbal praise as well. He’s a fun little guy who loves to play ball, explore the backyard, do puzzle games, fetch sticks, and he’s good with cats! He’s also a bit of an acrobat. Teach him to jump through hoops and you’ll have your own little circus dog! He’s great in the bath and he is fine being brushed or groomed at home. He's a very gentle, loving boy, and he doesn’t mind being dressed up or wearing winter jackets and sweaters. Rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje, Ozzie is ready for a loving home where he can continue to grow and experience all the joys of being a cherished companion! Story
Ramona is an independent little pup who marches to the beat of her own drum! While other dogs may be vying for attention, she’s content doing her own thing—whether that’s exploring, playing with toys, or simply relaxing nearby. She isn’t overly needy for affection, but she also doesn’t mind the occasional cuddle. Unlike some puppies, Ramona isn’t much of a barker or whiner, making her a relatively easygoing companion. She’s learning basic commands like "No," "Stop it," and "Leave it," though potty training is still a work in progress. She’s got a playful, adventurous spirit and would thrive in a home that allows her to explore and engage at her own pace. If you’re looking for an independent but lovable pup who won’t demand constant attention, Ramona might be your perfect match! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi, my name is Chloe from Korea and I am a wonderful 5  year-old female Bichon Frise, weighing 13  lbs.    I was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in Korea, where dogs like me endure unimaginable cruelty and hardship. Thankfully, compassionate rescuers saved me and gave me the chance to experience something I’d never known before, hope.  I’m a gentle and affectionate companion who loves being around people, kind children, and other dogs.  I’d do best in a home with a family who understands that rescued dogs need patience and time to adjust.    We recommend working with our skilled pet rescue trainer. My adoption fee of  $1,495 (tax-deductible and essential for supporting future rescues) c  overs Spay/Neuter.    DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccinations,  Deworming and Heartworm testing,  Microchipping,  Boarding fees, health certificate, and airline transport from Korea to Seattle.    For safety, all adopted dogs must have a GPS tracker or Apple AirTag. You can bring your own or purchase one from us.    Your support allows Ginger’s Pet Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to continue its lifesaving work and provide critical medical care for animals in  need.    Email  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  to request an adoption application or to learn more about me. Donations to help with vet bills at Greenwood Vet are always appreciated—they make rescues like mine possible.     March 14, 2025, 6:47 am

Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!!  My name is Cody from Korea and I am a wonderful approx. 2 year old male Bichon Frise.  I am about 6 lbs. and hoping to find a forever home.  I am friendly and was saved from an illegal Breeding Farm in South Korea.  I was rescued with many others by local activists from the horrific conditions we were in.  I fought to survive every day and was so badly neglected.  Korea kills an estimated 1.5 -2 million dogs a year to be eaten.  I just want a chance to be part of a family and for someone to love and care for me.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,795 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.  A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an AirTag from us.  The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  We do not guarantee the breed and age of the dogs.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  The adoption fee is donated to the rescue and is tax deductible.  Please e-mail at  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  for an adoption application.
