Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   BOTTLE BABIES! Meet Regina George and Aaron Samuals! Our bottle babies are finally ready for adoption! 4 babies who were just a few days old were dropped off at one of our foster homes without any warning - someone had found them at a factory and the workers there were threatening to drown them. These 4 babies were lovingly bottle fed around the clock for weeks and beat all the odds! They are all SO incredibly friendly, affectionate and loving. They are the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. They love attention and exploring new places. Aaron and Regina are BFF's and we would LOVE for them to be able to be adopted together as a bonded pair. Aaron is the grey tabby, and Regina is the pure black Bombay. These two are pretty chill and love to snuggle up on your lap or perch somewhere up high and overlook their kingdom. Aaron will just lay on you all day if you put him there - he's a lazy cuddly boy! He also loves to eat!! Once he got a taste of the canned food, he couldn't believe how delicious it was, and he eats it with great enthusiasm! These two kittens will be ready to go home in about a week or so when they are 8 weeks old! They will make a wonderful addition to your home! These kittens will need to be spayed/neutered when they are big enough. They are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $100 total for the pair Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 5:41 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Gummi Bear! This little girl sure has been through a lot in her short life, but she is full of personality and joy!! She was found on the side of the road badly injured, and was taken to the vet where it was found that her femur and her pelvis were both badly broken, as well as her tail. Her tail was amputated right away. The vet tried at first to set her leg to see if it would heal, but unfortunately it became quickly clear that she had no feeling in that leg at all, and her back left leg was also amputated. She healed beautifully and immediately mastered walking with 3 legs! Having 3 legs does not slow her down one bit, that's for sure! She is a very energetic kitten who loves to run around and play. She LOVES toys. Her favorites are chasing around the jingle ball toys or playing with the wand toys. She's also very chatty, and voiced her complaints the entire drive in the car. She had more than her fair share of cage-rest when she was healing, and she is LOVING all her new found freedom. She is a busy girl who will play with anything and everything, including your hands (she's a teething kitten)! If you have a soft spot for differently-abled, spunky, sassy kittens who have a lot to say, then Gummi Bear is your girl! Gummi Bear thankfully has no problems using the litter box.  She will need to be spayed when she is old enough. She is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $150, plus $40 refundable spay/neuter depositCan’t adopt? Story
This is White Foots. In a previous life he was known as Hershey. • 2011 he was adopted from the SPCA • Feb 2017 he was dumped • He is chipped but his owners denied ever owning a cat. • Approximately 13 yrs old • Likes to sleep in a carrier but prefers a sofa • FIV & Feline Leukemia negative. He lived outside from Feb 2017 until fall 2023, part of that time on my patio, part of the time elsewhere. Fall of 2023 he decided he did not want to go outside ever again. My house is not the best place for him. With him I have 4 cats. White Foots is not comfortable with other cats & hisses or growls. It has taken 5 months for him to be okay with my 1 female cat. He needs a home where he is the only pet. A place where he can sleep on a sofa or chair which he is quite happy to share with a human, just not another pet. He is quiet. No drama. He would be perfect for an older person who doesn't want a pet who will outlive them.
