Sunflower Available for Foster to Adopt FAST FACTS Greetings from Sunflower, a tricolored bundle of love who’s always ready for fun and adventure! CARE rescued me from an overcrowded shelter in southern Illinois, and the staff and volunteers quickly discovered that “action” is my middle name. I like to be the first dog out for a walk each morning and evening, eager to spend time in the great outdoors. I have good leash manners, am learning to sit and wait at corners, and am friendly with everyone I meet. I would love an early morning jogging partner. The first thing everyone notices about me is how pretty I am. But my brains outshine my beauty, and folks at the shelter think I have the makings of an agility superstar. My athletic skills are Olympic caliber, and whether it’s running to retrieve a ball, leaping to catch a frisbee, or playing a game of chase, I can do it all with style. Now if only I had some sheep to herd! After I’ve worn myself out, I relax and crash—ideally next to a human with my head (or whole body) in their lap. As for the basics, I’m completely reliable when it comes to doing my business outdoors and go in my crate without a fuss. I like to jump high and probably as tall as you! If  this arrangement sounds like something you’d be interested in doing, please fill out an adoption application and come and meet me ASAP! I will be spayed and microchipped and have a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out a foster survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-foster-survey Love and Licks SunflowerAugust 18, 2024, 9:00 pm

Despite facing significant challenges-being deaf, partially blind, and having neurological issues-Pippin is full of spirit and affection. He's looking for a special person who can offer him the structured, caring environment he needs to thrive.About Pippin:Breed: Double merle Border Collie!Personality: Loving, intelligent, and in need of a structured routinePippin requires a home with an experienced owner who can provide him with a strict daily routine. He thrives on consistency and would do best in a home without other pets or young children. His neurological issues make him sensitive to changes, so a predictable environment is crucial for his well-being!His favorite toys? Balls and squishy toys. He'll even drop them at your feet for more fetch! What Pippin Needs:Experienced Owner: Pippin needs someone who understands special needs dogs and is ready to provide extra training and care.Routine: A strict daily routine helps Pippin feel secure and avoid overstimulation.Leash Requirements: He loves walks and playtime, especially tug-o-war, but will need a chain or cable leash for safety.Interactions: Pippin can interact with smaller dogs and cats but finds larger dogs intimidating. He would prefer to be the only pet in the household to avoid resource guarding and to ensure he feels secure.** Submit your foster or adoption application at ChicagoCanineRescue.org! **

Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Flower. Flower was the only survivor of a box of 7 puppies who were thrown away like trash. She came to me as a 10-day old bottle baby and struggled for a few weeks until she finally turned a corner and started to thrive. She is a little fighter and now has reached the ripe old age of 6+ weeks and had her first vaccinations recently. She is currently eating kibble and is looking for an adopter who can enjoy her antics and find or provide her a great forever home! Flower is probably a border collie mix of some sort but because she came in a box, it is just a guess. She is active and playful but tries to test everything with those little needle teeth of hers. She will need an active home to vent her energy and persistent training as she tends to like to have her own way. Perhaps agility training to help meet her activity needs. Flower responds well to playing with the chihuahuas and with Laila, the former bottle baby boxer, who all will let her know when enough is enough! She loves larger dogs and likes to interact with kittens as well. Flower is all of 4 pounds right now at 6.5 weeks and should end up being a medium sized girl. She is very loving and looks to people to be her pack. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFEThe rise of the no-kill movement over the past decade has been one of the most significant trends within animal protection. For millions of dogs and cats, it has been the difference between life and death. Wright-Way Rescue's mission is a little different than most. We focus a significant portion of our efforts on saving pets throughout RURAL AMERICA. It is in these extremely remote locations that help and hope for homeless pets is still at a minimum. Often times our shelter is their only chance of being accepted into an adoption program and receiving the care they need. Wright-Way Rescue adopts more dogs into homes per year than any other shelter in IL. We do so on approximately 10% of the budget of similarly sized operations. Each dollar donated is stretched to the max to provide aid to homeless pets and support the rural communities we partner with. We know that helping to create compassionate communities where resources are generally lacking is key to leading the US to become a country who no longer kills pets simply because they do not have a home. Thank you for considering adoption through Wright-Way Rescue, a NO-KILL animal rescue. If you have any questions or concerns throughout your adoption experience, do not hesitate to contact our organization.Sincerely,Wright-Way Rescue
