Story
Beth Approximately 9 years old  Easy going quiet girl once settled. Good with the other dogs. Plays with my dog First few days when arriving was anxious. We gave her 100 mg of trazadone which helped. Stopped after 4th day. She goes after my parrot and chickens.  We don't have cats   Barks at the horses and stays away from them. Traveling in car, she is eager to get in. She is quiet on country roads but whining in city stop and go traffic. Slow climbing stairs but has no trouble jumping on the couch, chair and bed. Her favorite place to sleep is in the chair and couch. See pics. Eats with the other dogs and is fine, no guarding. Feeding her 1cup twice a day. Kirkland lamb and rice. Good leash skills. She will lean up against youDislikes: small spaces, loud dogs, strangersWhat would be the ideal home? Quiet but active. Someone who understands Border Collie behaviors and requirements. No downtown/busy area, no apartments. Possibly no attached housing. Detached and quiet area ideal. A home where someone is home often or has the time, a lot of time, to do separation anxiety training. Good with cats? UnknownGood with dogs? She’s terrified of other dogs while out, especially if they bark at her. She has made friends with 2 other female dogs (at the same times) after slow introductions and tandem walks. They walk together but do not instigate play. She is getting more brave while seeing other dogs out on walks as long as they don’t bark at her.Good with children? unknownTemperament: quiet and nervousMotivators? She’s eager to please. Not food motivated. Any commands? Sit, high five, paw, down, spin, go lay down, go get it, bring it here, paws up (on a stool), back up, harness (come sit to get your harness on)House trained? Yes but is used to going out frequently so will need time to be trained to a schedule/routine. Crate trained? No. Working on not being nervous around the crate. She is not destructive in the house. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? A few weeks/over a month.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Prey drive. Nervous around other dogs and strangers, especially if they’re loud or bigger. Has some separation anxiety. She is very eager to please and learn. She has had 1 “training” session for tricks and has a lot of potential. Picky eater - will currently only eat Purina Dog Chow Chicken & Steak dry food. Travels well in the car but needs space. Hi there! I'm Joy! I'm a lovely 3-year-old Border Collie mix with a beautiful black and white coat. I weigh 11 kg, making me the perfect size for all kinds of adventures! My Story: I was rescued just in time from a kill center, and now I'm looking for my forever home where I can share all my love and joy. My Personality: I'm very affectionate and love to rub against people, whether I know them or not. I'm always ready for some pets! You can lift me by putting your arm under my belly. I'm easy to handle! Once I get to know you, I'll happily show you my belly. It's my way of saying I trust you! I love meeting new dogs and always ask them to play. I'm a friendly girl! I might need a bit of caution when meeting new dogs for the first time, especially if toys or snacks are involved. When I see a cat during a walk, I stay focused on my human. Cats don't distract me! I enjoy outdoor activities and have a normal energy level. After a fun time outside, I like to rest quietly. I tend to pull on the leash a bit, but I generally follow my human well. I don't guard my food against people, but I might growl if another dog approaches me while I'm eating. I'm very calm in a kennel and know how to get in and out of a car by myself. I generally only do my business outside. Fun Facts: I'm people-friendly and get along with strangers easily. I used to guard resources, but I'm much better now. My new family should be firm when giving me snacks or toys. I might try to bite a stranger's hand if I'm in a kennel, but that's because I was traumatized while moving to a training center. I don't show any behavior issues at the training center, but I might need some time to adjust in a new place. I'm looking for a loving home where I can continue to grow and share my affection. My Story Hello! I'm Damon, a lively and clever Border Collie mix who's always ready for an adventure. My story began on a tough note-I was found lying weak and dehydrated on the streets. Thankfully, kind people noticed me and brought me to safety, where I was nursed back to health. Since then, I've blossomed into a strong, happy pup, and now I'm ready to find a family who's as enthusiastic about life as I am! My Social Side True to my Border Collie roots, I'm full of energy and love to play. Whether it's chasing after toys, playing tug, or running in wide-open spaces, I'm in my element when I get to move and explore. I also enjoy playing with my dog friends, and while I can be a little rambunctious, it's all in good fun!
