Friendly Finn is a lucky dog. You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive. He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years. TRUTH! How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter. Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown. He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car. He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding. Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park. We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter. What you see here are three of five innocent puppies who someone carelessly and with no heart, dropped these puppies near a roadway with no concern for their safety. Two of the 5 puppies were run over. A compassionate young woman who works at a vet clinic saw the situation and picked them up and asked Critter Cavalry Rescue for help. We can help them but we need some partnership families to step forward. They are both boys and girls and weigh 9-12 pounds and determined to be 8-9 weeks of age. We are at capacity with fosters but a few new ones could help us raise these puppies for 3-4 weeks and get them healthy and in to good homes. They are wormed, first parvo distemper shots given with flea and tick meds done and full vet exam. Their fur is a little rough and to be expected. Good food, medicated baths and love will have them shining like beautiful puppies very soon. Can you help with one or possibly two? Or even 3 for a short while? This beautiful young 4-month-old pup is called Roxy and she will rock your world with all the wonderful dog manners and beautiful personality that you could want in a dog. We think she is a smooth coat Border collie mix and is beautifully created with the most outstanding ears that captures all the attention when you look her way. At approximately 4 months of age, she weighs 20 lb and is a delightful foster guest at the current home that is caring for her. She loves the young children there in the home and they love her. She's great with the cat, she's great with the dog, and honestly there is not a strang person that Roxy ever shies away from. She is just about completely housebroken in literally 5 days. She's one of those rare, young dogs that makes adopting a puppy a breeze. She is eternally happy all the time and eager to go and do whatever you want to do. We think she is going to reach an ultimate adult weight of about 40 to 45 lb. She's lovely in every way and will make a great first time dog to adopt or a second dog in the home. Wish was born in February of 2024. She is still a puppy, but is doing well in potty training with an occasional accident here or there. She is crate trained and does well sleeping through the night without needing to go out. We bid on and won Wish at a live auction for the Make a Wish Gala in April of 2024. While we were excited to donate money to such a good cause, we are struggling on the time commitment needed to take care of a dog. Our son was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and relapsed, requiring continuous care on a regular basis. We also have three other children with various activities and schedule commitments and have realized that we unfortunately do not have the time right now to give Wish the proper attention she needs. We are hoping to find Wish a home with a family who has the time to enjoy her.
