Friendly Finn is a lucky dog. You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive. He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years. TRUTH! How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter. Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown. He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car. He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding. Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park. We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter. What you see here are three of five innocent puppies who someone carelessly and with no heart, dropped these puppies near a roadway with no concern for their safety. Two of the 5 puppies were run over. A compassionate young woman who works at a vet clinic saw the situation and picked them up and asked Critter Cavalry Rescue for help. We can help them but we need some partnership families to step forward. They are both boys and girls and weigh 9-12 pounds and determined to be 8-9 weeks of age. We are at capacity with fosters but a few new ones could help us raise these puppies for 3-4 weeks and get them healthy and in to good homes. They are wormed, first parvo distemper shots given with flea and tick meds done and full vet exam. Their fur is a little rough and to be expected. Good food, medicated baths and love will have them shining like beautiful puppies very soon. Can you help with one or possibly two? Or even 3 for a short while? Flower. Flower was the only survivor of a box of 7 puppies who were thrown away like trash. She came to me as a 10-day old bottle baby and struggled for a few weeks until she finally turned a corner and started to thrive. She is a little fighter and now has reached the ripe old age of 6+ weeks and had her first vaccinations recently. She is currently eating kibble and is looking for an adopter who can enjoy her antics and find or provide her a great forever home! Flower is probably a border collie mix of some sort but because she came in a box, it is just a guess. She is active and playful but tries to test everything with those little needle teeth of hers. She will need an active home to vent her energy and persistent training as she tends to like to have her own way. Perhaps agility training to help meet her activity needs. Flower responds well to playing with the chihuahuas and with Laila, the former bottle baby boxer, who all will let her know when enough is enough! She loves larger dogs and likes to interact with kittens as well. Flower is all of 4 pounds right now at 6.5 weeks and should end up being a medium sized girl. She was part of a hoarding case where the family had way too many dogs and could not properly take care of them. Because of this Princess and her doggie family ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. She was a thin has could be and very weak. Miss Cheryl and her mom Ruth felt sorry for her and decided to rescue her. An immediate trip to the vet was scheduled. Princess was diagnosed with long term untreated diabetes. This was the reason she was so thin. What a sham that no one noticed the symptoms but them. Poor Princess almost died. Her vet was truly amazed that she lived. Her diabetes is now under control and she has gained weight. Princess is one of the sweetest dogs ever. She is a true love bug and so very grateful for the love and care she has received. She is thriving and would make someone a great pet. Unfortunately as a result of the diabetes Princess has limited vision. She is amazing though. After she gets the 'lay of the land' you would never know it. She does not bump into things and can navigate stairs up and down. It truly is amazing. She is a very loving dog who just wants to be with her people. If you want a canine shadow then she is the one for you. Despite her lack of vision, Princess enjoys walking and you would never know her sight is limited. She is a dog that you could take any where. Princess loves to ride in the car an is always up for a trip just about any where. She has been on several with her foster family. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is also trained to sit patiently snacking on a baby carrot when it is shot time. The distraction of the carrot does the trick so giving the insulin shot is not a problem. She is good with other dogs her size and age but not young rambunctious puppies or dogs. She would also be fine as an only dog. She would be happy to soak up all the attention.
