Story
Please contact Vivienne (viviennejames@comcast.net) for more information about this pet.Meet Miss Princess!  This 8 year old 30 lbs gem had a horrible life prior to joining the Cavalry.  She was part of a hoarding case where the family had way too many dogs and could not properly take care of them.  Because of this Princess and her doggie family ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter.  She was a thin has could be and very weak.  Miss Cheryl and her mom Ruth felt sorry for her and decided to rescue her.  An immediate trip to the vet was scheduled.  Princess was diagnosed with long term untreated diabetes.  This was the reason she was so thin.  What a sham that no one noticed the symptoms but them.  Poor Princess almost died.  Her vet was truly amazed that she lived.  Her diabetes is now under control and she has gained weight.  Princess is one of the sweetest dogs ever.  She is a true love bug and so very grateful for the love and care she has received.  She is thriving and would make someone a great pet.  Unfortunately as a result of the diabetes Princess has limited vision.  She is amazing though.  After she gets the 'lay of the land' you would never know it.  She does not bump into things and can navigate stairs up and down.  It truly is amazing.  She is a very loving dog who just wants to be with her people.  If you want a canine shadow then she is the one for you.  Despite her lack of vision, Princess enjoys walking and you would never know her sight is limited.  She is a dog that you could take any where.  Princess loves to ride in the car an is always up for a trip just about any where.  She has been on several with her foster family.  She is housebroken and crate trained.  She is also trained to sit patiently snacking on a baby carrot when it is shot time.  The distraction of the carrot does the trick so giving the insulin shot is not a problem.  She is good with other dogs her size and age but not young rambunctious puppies or dogs.  She would also be fine as an only dog.  She would be happy to soak up all the attention.  If you would like to give a home to a wonderful special needs dog, Princess is the one for you.  To be considered for her forever family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  August 18, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Critter Cavalry Rescue is trying to help several dogs like Lyla out of a small rural shelter that is cramped and hard on the spirit of the kind of dog like Lyla.  She came to the shelter as an owner surrender forced by the animal control of the shelter.   She and her sister were being crated 24/7 just about and this was negligent and cruel.  She has been in this little shelter for almost 3 months now and her Blue Heeler spirit is just being stifled to get out and have some time to roam a yard, go for a fun run of fetch the ball or just be sleeping on a soft cozy dog bed at your feet.  It is just hard on the spirit when these dogs are stashed away and unnoticed and very little attention except to feed them.  She is 1-2 years old and 38 pounds.  She is mostly Heeler from what we can tell but on the darker side and she is warm and friendly but cautious too because of the confinement she has experienced.  Help us if you love the breed or love rescuing and fostering or even adopting.  She is fully vetted and ready to go!  Email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   It is time to free Lyla! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 18, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Our sweet Red Heeler girl is called Calamity Jane and she is a sharp shooter girl when it comes to being smart, capable to handle herself and cute as a bonus.  She was born the end of May and is currently 7.5 pounds at just 9 weeks of age and expected to be a 4o-45 pound adult dog.  She and her mom and siblings were dropped off at a small town shelter in East Tennessee and Momma was all Red Heeler with stand up ears and dad was missing in action.  Seems that these pups of hers are all taking after Momma in looks and temperament. She is a little taller than her sibling so she may be taller than a typical Red Heeler. If you want to know what she is like then all we can say is that she is super sweet and a huge cuddler! In a perfect world she would be a lap dog 24/7. She appears to be very smart and is a playful girl who is super fast!  She has been great around other dogs. She has not met a person she did not like. Calamity will do best with a family that will help her to gain confidence in her environment by getting her out and about seeing new places and meeting new people. We call it socializing a puppy on a consistent basis and many people forget that they need to do that for a well-rounded adult dog. If you are interested in this pretty, smart and charming Heeler girl please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask for an application.  Please mention where you live: city and state. Story
Belle Star! This sweet little Red Heeler mix female puppy came into foster from a small town shelter. Her momma was a Red Heeler and dad is unknown. This little bundle of joy is inquisitive and very smart like all the Heelers are known to be.  Belle was born around the end of May and is currently just 9 weeks old as of 7/29. She is expected to be an average weight of around 40 pounds if she keeps growing at the rate she is now.  Currently she is only 7 pounds at the 9 weeks mark.  She will most likely have the build that is typical of the Heeler breed and we are expecting her ears to slowly start pointing upward like her Mom’s. When talking about her personality we can safely say that Belle Star is super sweet and enjoys attention. She is very playful and confident and has been great around other dogs, cats, and loves every person she meets. Her foster mom is a huge Heeler fan and has had several over the years and has one NOW.  Being a Heeler, she will do best with a family that can keep her busy and perhaps has a fenced yard for safety to run to her heart’s content.  She is a little cutie and is going to be a great dog for a lucky family. With the hot summer heat she has proven herself to be a fan of the kiddie pool and she truly loves to lounge for quite a while…of course with her sun screen on for safety.  She is ready for a new home NOW.  If you are interested, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 18, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Our beautifu little freckled girl puppy is called Tavia. We believe her to be a Blue Texas Heeler mix and at 20 lbs. we are estimating her to be a little over 4 months old. This happy girl was surrendered by a family that admitted they had no time for a puppy nor the resources to get her vetted properly and spayed. We happily took this little girl on with the promise that she would find the right family for her breed and her personality. She is loving and happy and living currently with a pit mix adult boy dog who is so gentle with her and having the time of their life playing.  She is learning about a crate and the schedule for house breaking. We are looking for a family that is active and perhaps has children that are 6 years and above. We also request a nice fenced  backyard for her safe playtime and freedom. She lives well with another dog and would be fine with a cat. She is a beauty and we anticipate that she will become a 45 to 50 lb adult that will turn heads and challenge you to count the freckles on her pretty legs. An adoring love and commitment is truly the life you will have with Tavia. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 18, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Wish was born in February of 2024. She is still a puppy, but is doing well in potty training with an occasional accident here or there. She is crate trained and does well sleeping through the night without needing to go out. We bid on and won Wish at a live auction for the Make a Wish Gala in April of 2024. While we were excited to donate money to such a good cause, we are struggling on the time commitment needed to take care of a dog. Our son was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and relapsed, requiring continuous care on a regular basis. We also have three other children with various activities and schedule commitments and have realized that we unfortunately do not have the time right now to give Wish the proper attention she needs. We are hoping to find Wish a home with a family who has the time to enjoy her.

NAME: Rosie COLOR: Beige, gray, tan B’DAY: Dec. 2020 TEMPMENT: Energenic WEIGHT: 55 lbs HUMANS: Good; CHILDREN: Over 12 yrs and respectful to animals PETS: good with cats and dogs VETTING: Fully vetted, HW neg and spayed CONTACT: Silverrescue@gmail.com Rosie is a sweet girl. She loves everyone. Because she is so loving we don't really understand why she keeps being overlooked. Rosie is happiest when she can be her person’s shadow, working in the garden, going for a walk in the park, riding in the car to the feedstore or the car mechanic. She’s never been in a canoe. Wouldn’t that be nice. She just wants to be with her person. That’s all. She's also good with dogs and cats. She reads situations well and quickly adjusts and respects her fellow pet companions. She loves children but they must be over 12 to withstand her exuberance when she wants to hug them. Rosie has been through obedience school and knows her basic commands of come, sit, stay, down, leave it and no through she loses focus when something exciting happens. Her vetting is up to date, heartworm negative and spayed. She is crate trained and house and pottie trained. Rosie will be adopted to an inside forever home only. Family must own home. No rentals please. Fence required. If she is to be a companion to another dog it should be a male dog. We require personal and vet references and a homevisit. The adoption fee of $250 is used to save the next abandoned pet like Rosie. For Rosie’s application please contact SilverRescue@gmail.com

Story
We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs.  Bonnie is a mix of some interesting breeds.  We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her.  The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach.  She is the home security dog officer!   This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health.  Bonnie is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds.  She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard.  She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family.  If you would like to give Bonnie her next forever home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue who is helping her at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 18, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Antonio, aka Tony! I was found in a creek at the bottom of a bluff on a nice lady’s property out in Trousdale County, Tennessee. I am 8 pounds and they think I am about 10 weeks old, born around the last week of May! They also think I had been hit by a big truck when I was found, so I have some hairline fractures in my front left paw that are healing quickly and well! I am a very sassy, sweet, and good puppy. I am doing extremely well with potty training and crate training! I have to spend a lot of time in the crate while my foot is healing and this is tough for me as a puppy. But it's necessary and my foster mom is studying to be a vet so she knows how important it is that I get the right care so my leg heals perfectly.  I have a lot of energy and I love to chew on chew toys and play with big dogs. I think I rule the world!! I am good with both cats and dogs, and would do well in really any kind of home as long as you’re willing to entertain me and ready for all my puppy antics! Because of my paw, the doctors want to wait to neuter me until I am almost full grown so that my joints can fully develop and my growth plates can fully heal, so we do ask that I am adopted in the Nashville area so that Critter Cavalry Rescue can provide my neuter. I am already bonding very strongly with my foster mom, so I cannot wait to meet my forever family and will be ready for adoption very soon! I am an absolute love and joy to have!
