Story

We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs. Bonnie is a mix of some interesting breeds. We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her. The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach. She is the home security dog officer! This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health. Bonnie is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds. She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard. She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family. Story

Hi, I’m Antonio, aka Tony! I was found in a creek at the bottom of a bluff on a nice lady’s property out in Trousdale County, Tennessee. I am 8 pounds and they think I am about 10 weeks old, born around the last week of May! They also think I had been hit by a big truck when I was found, so I have some hairline fractures in my front left paw that are healing quickly and well! I am a very sassy, sweet, and good puppy. I am doing extremely well with potty training and crate training! I have to spend a lot of time in the crate while my foot is healing and this is tough for me as a puppy. But it's necessary and my foster mom is studying to be a vet so she knows how important it is that I get the right care so my leg heals perfectly. I have a lot of energy and I love to chew on chew toys and play with big dogs. I think I rule the world!! I am good with both cats and dogs, and would do well in really any kind of home as long as you’re willing to entertain me and ready for all my puppy antics! Because of my paw, the doctors want to wait to neuter me until I am almost full grown so that my joints can fully develop and my growth plates can fully heal, so we do ask that I am adopted in the Nashville area so that Critter Cavalry Rescue can provide my neuter. I am already bonding very strongly with my foster mom, so I cannot wait to meet my forever family and will be ready for adoption very soon! I am an absolute love and joy to have! What we know about Rusty is that his owner passed away and he was extremely sad and confused in the shelter, but has really warmed up with us and his fosters so we are so glad to see that! He seems good with other dogs and cats and does well. He is very overweight and needs to lose probably around 20lbs so his new family must be on board with continuing on his weight loss journey because it seems to be negatively affecting his ability to walk any distance, etc. He has already lost some since he has been with his fosters and we have already seen an increase in his activity level so we think this guy wants to be an active boy! Rusty was seen by the vet and thankfully they do not think his walking issues stem from an injury or issue, but from having to deal with the large amount of extra weight that he carries, but, like we mentioned, he has gotten better since he has started to lose the weight so yay for that! He has been on a pain med to help with any pain but it is very possible that as he loses more weight that his pain and discomfort will decrease and we could see the meds going down. Rusty is just an incredibly sweet guy but needs some extra help with his wellness journey but he is definitely ready to find his forever home!August 16, 2024, 11:06 am

Momma Donna is a Kelpie/Heeler mix girl that gave birth 3 months ago to 8 beautiful, wonderful Heeler puppies. This girl is 2 years old and only 42 pounds. She is amazingly smart and seems to know exactly what you are saying to her. We think that Momma Donna would be a perfect addition to a home with children who want to play and teach a dog some good tricks and manners. She is willing to learn anything. Momma Donna is nicely housebroken and ready for a totally great and new life. Momma Donna just needs a place to belong. Friendly Finn is a lucky dog. You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive. He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years. TRUTH! How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter. Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown. He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car. He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding. Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park. We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.
