Story
If you would like more information about Parker or are interested in fostering or adopting him, please send an email to wendy.s.howard@gmail.com or contact this number, 713-494-7749 Parker is a 3 year old Border Collie-Pit mix who was found abandoned at a park. He has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is a sweet-natured boy in good health. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and extremely smart. He is incredibly devoted to the humans who care for him, and is looking for his forever best friend. He loves to play with toys and cuddle. While he is currently being fostered in a home with a cat and a small dog, he is kept somewhat separate from them. He does not seem to care if another dog is around, but due to his high-energy nature (and complete lack of need for personal space), he will be best placed in a home as an “only child” with a yard to roam. Adopt Parker, and he will be your biggest fan and most loyal protector. Story
Hi, my name is Petey, and I am probably the most docile, low-maintenance dog you will ever meet. I would do best in a calm and quiet home where I can just lay around, leisurely chew on toys, and get in some good cuddles and pets. I do not like to go on walks in the neighborhood, but a yard where I can get out those occasional zoomies would be nice. I am dog friendly and will play after I've gotten comfortable. My play is very gentle and calm. I'm even cat friendly! I am completely potty trained and have no problem hanging out in my crate when necessary. I don't make any noise, ever! So, if you are looking for a sweet, gentle, quiet companion, please fill out an application and let's meet. We're looking for a home with no young children, or future young children. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body but we feel this sweet boy would be much happier in a child free environment. Petey is a male Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix. He has an estimated date of birth of 7/1/2023. He weighs 38lbs.

Story
Rachel - Border Collie/Lab mix - Female - 4.5 yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Rachel: this gorgeous 4.5-year-old Border Collie Lab has returned to us as her needs and her families availability simply grew apart, like it happens sometimes. Rather than fitting a square peg into a round hole, it was determined that Rachel would be happier in a home that can more closely fit her needs. Rachel likes to have something to do, either playing with a toy or one of her dog friends or going for a walk. She seems to have a permanent smile on her face, and loves attention. She can be a little sneaky and will find unsecured garbage cans and unattended food - as she is very smart. She fine with relaxing with her pack after some playtime. Rachel is fine with most other dogs - she can be a little slow on picking up subtle social cues form other dogs ("I don't want to play right now" - "OK, how about now" 5 seconds later...) so tolerant dogs are the easiest fit, and while she is pretty easily corrected and redirect, you may have to repeat yourself a few times for her to believe you. She does want to please her humans and loves to cuddle. Rachel does not like to be left alone, and is looking for a home where someone is home a lot and can devote time and energy to her exercise, training and give her the attention and affection she craves. Some dogs handle changes easily, Rachel is not one of them, so an experienced and patience handler is preferred. Rachel would do best in a home with another dog or more than one, she loves kids, is house trained, but does not like to be alone and is not a fan of the crate. She can be crated and is currently crated, albeit in a rather high security crate. She is highly food motivated, which is great for training, is fine in the car, her leash training could use some fine tuning, but she is making great progress and has attended numerous group classes with her trainer with great success. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***
