Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comBagby is a conundrum… sometimes a sweet old boy who appears to have been someone’s baby at one time: reliably housetrained, knows several commands; follows me everywhere and accepts pets; but appears to have been deeply affected by his life on the streets, finding his food, protecting himself night and day. He must be sedated for grooming and if surprised, in pain or handled for exams/grooming - he will react. He gets along most of the time with other dogs, but will sometimes challenge.Bagby is a sweet old boy; with issues, his call name is Mudgeon, as in curmudgeon.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON Bagby ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ Bagby is being fostered in Peoria, AZ in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!LEARN OUR 'ADOPTION FAQS': Any questions that you may have about our adoption process, fees, transporting a dog, and our policy not to adopt to families with small children, can be answered at our main website or going directly to this link: https://www.cairnrescue.com/service/faq/ IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU READ THE FAQ'S BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION. **Courtesy Post** Hi! I'm Cowboy! I'm an approximately 1 year old, male, Border Terrier/Bulldog mix who weighs about 30 pounds. I was found off 276 and Townsend in Rockwall on 07/11/2024 and never reclaimed. I am ready to find my furr ever home! I am a sweet guy who knows basic commands. I am working on crate training, house training, and walking on a leash. I am currently in foster and have been introduced to other dogs and kids but have not yet met any cats. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, current on my rabies vaccination and basic boosters. I am microchipped and heartworm negative! Since I am in foster, meet and greets will be scheduled by APPROVED APPLICATION ONLY. Please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adopt.../adoption-application/ to fill out an application and RAC staff will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet with approved applicants. Story
Minnie is a SPECIAL NEEDS case. Until she trusts you, which doesn’t take long, she has significant behavioral problems (snarling, growling, snapping, barking, she will fear bite and she can sometimes be resource protective). She came from a situation of EXTREME neglect; she was kept outside 24/7 and starved. Therefore, she's VERY fearful of people at first, but once she trusts you, she's the sweetest, most loving dog, but, because she's SO fearful, she needs an EXPERIENCED adopter who will GO SLOW and allow her to build trust. She is usually at our adoption events on Saturdays. She gets along with other dogs although she doesn’t really play with them. She will do best as an only dog. She doesn’t seem to mind cats. She bonds STRONGLY to one person, so she will do best in a one person home. With the person she trusts, she’s EXTREMELY affectionate. She loves to be picked up and held and she loves to give kisses and get belly rubs and go on walks. Because of her issues, she will NOT be adopted into a home with children under 18 - if you're interested in her, please email poochsavers@gmail.com with your experience with abused/fearful/neglected dogs.

Story
Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comReady Reddick. Reddick came to Col. Potter with the name Chewie as in Chewbacca. Who can resist that cute face? One would never know this boy is 10. He is energetic, active and curious about the world. Reddick likes the work of training to get treats. Reddick is ready for his forever home. (His foster-mom is so proud of him.) He came into Col Potter after living on the streets. He has settled into the comfort of knowing his daily routine and trusting people. He plays with toys and interacts with his foster home resident dogs. When he came he did nothing but pace and fret. He is a ten year old boy who is looking for a home with a dog knowledgeable people as he can be reactive if one isn’t reading his behavior. He also has a sensitive GI tract therefore needs attention to his diet. The reward of having him looking into your eyes with affection and anticipation of good things is the best feeling.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON REDDICK ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ Reddick is being fostered in Casa Grande, AZ in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!LEARN OUR 'ADOPTION FAQS': Any questions that you may have about our adoption process, fees, transporting a dog, and our policy not to adopt to families with small children, can be answered at our main website or going directly to this link: https://www.cairnrescue.com/service/faq/ IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU READ THE FAQ'S BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION.
