Story
Benny is the remaining puppy of our dogs Lovey and Sonic. He has alopecia but somehow symmetrically has fur in some areas. He has his back molars and two baby fangs, other than that toothless. If you put your face on his left side his tongue will miss you because it sticks out on the right side. He is the sweetest, obedient, goofiest boy. Unfortunately, we have one too many dogs and he needs to be rehomed. He just turned 1 November 12. He will do great with anyone/family who loves to cuddle, play, go on walks, and play in water, and loooooves to run, very agile too. He does not mind being dressed up in pajamas and sweaters/jackets. He is housebroken and crate trained. A quick learner and even quicker to please. He knows several commands such as sit, down, stay, up (when you touch your chest to come into your arms), bang bang (play dead), crawl, shake, eat and more. He also loves sleeping with a blanket, sometimes used as a pacifier, literally. Willing to travel to you.

Story
Boston Terrier Age: Senior Female, Spayed 20 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Abby was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. She was dangerously underweight and had horrendous skin issues. The shelter contacted us to address her medical needs. It was discovered that her skin issue was a severe, long untreated food allergy. Once we put her on a prescription food diet (hydrolyzed protein) her skin issues quickly resolved. Eventually we switched her to a fish based food (NO BEEF or CHICKEN!) and her skin remained good. Putting weight on her was a little more challenging (it takes a long time to get a starved dog to put on weight). She 3+ months that she has been in foster care, she has gained back about 3 lbs. She could stand to gain 1 or 2 more. She has a very good appetite - any other dog eating what she eats would easily be overweight. Abby is super friendly (some would argue maybe too friendly) and loves everybody she meets. She is a compulsive face licker. She has some separation anxiety issues, and would do better with other friendly, playful dogs in the home. She doesn’t like to be confined in a crate or pen for any length of time (she sleeps on the bed with her humans). Other than her dietary needs, she is also on joint and skin supplements. She has luxating patellas and a little arthritis in her knees, but it doesn’t impede her ability to get around. Otherwise, she is very healthy. Rolo is a pure bred fawn Boston Terrier. He is 5 years old He is the happiest dog ever all he wants to do is play and hug and love. Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 25th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.       Adoption Fee: $800   The Ski puppies are a litter of 10 week old Pug mixes who are ready to hit the slopes with their new families! These babies came into our rescue at a month old with Mama Ski Bunny after being surrendered to the shelter, which is no place for a little family. We sprung into action and got them into a foster home, where they grew up into amazing little puppies. This litter is 2 boys and 2 girls. We estimate their adult weights will be between 18-20 pounds, with the girls being a little smaller. These pups are all fabulous and amazing and we can’t wait to see them shred powder with you on the slopes! Ski on!      Heavenly (F): Heavenly is ready to bring rays of sunshine and days of powder to her forever people! Unlike her boisterous siblings, Heavenly is most commonly found curled up with her humans as they chill on the couch. She does love to play, but she’s more likely to sniff around the yard and find sticks than get in the middle of a wrestling match. Like a baby, she plays peek-a-boo which is absolutely delightful. Heavenly loves rolling over and placing a tiny paw on your arm as you scratch behind her ears. She learned quickly that her puppy dog eyes and model poses can get her just about anything her heart desires, and she uses that power to get all the snuggles and treats! Ready to tackle all the black diamonds? Bring Heavenly and she will bless your ride!  Tahoe (M): Tahoe is an outgoing and loving gentleman who steals the spotlight wherever he goes! Tahoe loves giving kisses and rolls onto his back like a rolly polly whenever he thinks it’s time for more belly rubs (which is always). The only thing our boy loves more than snacks… is his people! Tahoe loves trotting behind his humans, tumbling over his adorable paws as he scrambles to keep up with the action. Tahoe has tons of puppy energy and loves to play, especially with stuffed toys and sticks he finds. Once our boy has gotten all his energy out, he is ready for a well-deserved snooze in your lap. We know that Tahoe would be the talk of any ski trip, as he tries to set a world record for fastest snowflake catching!  Vail (F): Vail is a cuddlebug who is excited to meet her cozy apres ski family. Vail loves giving puppy kisses whenever she sees you, especially when she can curl up under a blanket with you on these snowy winter days. Vail adores her canine companions and would be a fabulous addition to a home with a resident dog, but she could also fly solo! Vail thinks she is very feisty, growling adorably at her pile of toys as she launches herself onto them. We let her think that she’s the boss of the house because it’s impossible to say no to her puppy dog eyes! Vail will be the absolute best addition to her forever home and she can’t wait to make a lifetime of memories with you, from the slopes to the shore and everything in between!  Whistler (M): Whistler is a sweet boy who leads the pack in their daily adventures. Whistler is a fearless little man who explores new slopes with a spirit of adventure and an eye for activity. Whistler is super affectionate and loves being in your lap, in your arms, or basically wherever you are! This chunky little dude will just fling himself right into your lap and adorably demand all the cuddles he can possibly get. Truly, Whistler is just about the perfect puppy with his temperament and adorable little face. We know that whether he hits the slopes or the couch, he will make your life fabulous! Come and bring Whistler on your next trip to the slopes and let him fly!      The Ski puppies wake up around 7 AM and get served breakfast as their pen is cleaned out. Once they finish eating, they are herded outside for potty and playtime. During the day, they cycle between playing with toys, cuddling with their foster humans, getting their zoomies out, and napping in an adorable pile. They eat again at 12 PM and 5 PM. In the evening, the pups get some one-on-one snuggle time with their foster humans as they start to unwind from the day. They go out for one last potty practice and then trot into their pen for the night by 10 PM.  The Ski puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes since they came into rescue. They love meeting new humans, young and old, and are the talk of every gathering. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss plans for continued training and socialization. The pups are all super food motivated so training should be a breeze! If you’re ready to grab a day pass for adventure, pick up a Ski puppy today!      The Ski puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 5.January 25, 2025, 12:25 am

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $1000    Rolo is a 10 month old French Bulldog ready to be the sweet little treat you’ve been looking for! Rolo was rescued from the shelter by one of our amazing volunteers. We don’t know how this handsome gentleman landed in the slammer but we knew we couldn’t leave him behind. Rolo weighs 15 pounds and is a perfect little compact dude with an adorable underbite. He charms everyone he meets with his unique look! Those who love Frenchies will fall madly in love with Mr. Rolo from day one, so what are you waiting for!      Rolo is a total sweetheart who can’t wait to cuddle the days away with his forever humans! According to his foster parents, he is one of their favorite foster dogs ever! Rolo is a lapdog who thrives in his current role as a WFH and Snack Supervisor. He will make sure everyone stays on track so they can bring home the bacon for him! Rolo is a very couch potato kind of dog who snorts and snoozes the hours away. He’s always happy to romp outside but no marathons for this guy… well maybe TV marathons! With his permanent wonky grin, he makes the cutest little model we have ever seen! Rolo turns all the heads at the park as he struts by with his wiggling body and tongue happily hanging out of his mouth. He lives every day to the fullest! As long as you’re ready for all the sounds that come out of a gorgeous Frenchie, we can’t wait for Rolo to change your life!   Rolo wakes up at 7 AM and heads out for his morning potty walk before he comes home for breakfast. By 8:30 AM he is ready for a morning nap before starting his day of being the best WFH supervisor. He naps on and off for most of the day, supervising time in the kitchen in case any snacks happen to fall his way. Rolo goes on another potty walk around 3 PM and then lounges until his evening jaunt. Dinner is served at 7 PM and then Rolo delights his foster humans with his antics during playtime. Rolo snoozes on the couch while everyone unwinds from the day and then heads into his pen for the night. Rolo could happily coexist with a resident dog or thrive as a solo pup. He’s easy like that. He walks fabulously on a leash and is mostly house trained. Interested homes should be ready to discuss their experience with flat-faced breeds as they are unique in their ongoing care. Ready for the best combination of caramel and cuddles? Adopt Rolo!      Rolo is an option for any home with prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 7.January 25, 2025, 12:03 am
