Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $600   Jenga is a 3 year old French Bulldog who we rescued from the local shelter. A cold kennel is no place for such a handsome guy like Jenga! This dude is all the best parts of the Frenchie breed. Those who know and love Frenchies should look no further than Jenga. We will be prioritizing homes who have experience with this type of breed and are aware of their health concerns. Jenga has seen an eye specialist and is blind in one eye and is missing partial vision in the other. He still sees enough not to bump into things. To be honest, he’s so confident that it took us a few months to notice he couldn’t see too well, which says a lot about him! He doesn’t let a little thing like vision stop him from living his best life. The eye issue is not congential but rather a lack of care. He has damage to the corneas from an injury. Poor dude never got the help he needed to protect his eyes.   Below is a note from Jenga’s foster.  “Jenga is a very sweet dog who would love nothing more than to curl up on your lap and snuggle the day away. He sometimes gets the absolute funniest zoomies when he needs to get bursts of energy out, but he is a total couch potato. Unlike any other dog I have ever fostered, Jenga seems to know when screens are in front of him and loves to show off for attention on Zoom calls, which is a truly amazing skill for a dog who can’t see very well. When the camera calls, it calls!  He is just such a character.  Jenga wakes up around 8 AM and goes for a morning walk about half an hour later. He gets breakfast at 9 AM. When I work from home. he loves to cuddle next to me on the couch or take naps on the floor nearby. He gets another walk at around 6:30 PM and then gets his dinner. He goes to bed with me around 11:30 PM.  Jenga walks very well on the leash. He loves to sniff all the good smells out there and show off his amazing looks to his adoring public. Due to his vision issues, Jenga would do best as a solo dog in his forever home, as he startles easily when he is surprised. This distinguished gentleman is looking for his throne and we promised we’d deliver him one!   Jenga is only an option for those who have prior dog experience, with priority given to those who understand the Frenchie breed. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7. August 19, 2024, 11:27 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $800 Gidget is a 9 year old French Bulldog who is ready to live her golden years in style! Gidget was surrendered to the shelter when her former home decided she was too old for them and they wanted a new puppy instead. Well, we think that Gidget is absolutely fabulous the way she is and we told her that when we scooped her out of her kennel. Gidget is 17.8 pounds of love, snores, and Frenchie goodness. Even though she’s older, you wouldn’t know it by the way she lives her life to the fullest every day! We will be seeking a home who has experience with the Frenchie, or similar flat faced breeds, to ensure Gidget lives the rest of her life like the Queen she is!    Gidget is a sweet and loving gal who is looking for her new best friend! She doesn’t let a little thing like a few gray hairs stop her from romping around the neighborhood for walks and the house for playtime. Gidget loves being part of the action and wants to be in on all the inside jokes between her people. While she is independent when she needs to be, she also loves cuddles and kisses. If you love being drooled on by a Frenchie as a sign of love, sign Gidget up for the job! Gidget loves belly rubs and treats more than life itself and she will be your loyal companion if you promise her unlimited access. Gidget has a sense of adventure and loves sniffing around the world as she explores. Gidget is a total sweetheart and will make a great new addition to her lucky forever family. Gidget is a perfect mix of energetic and ready for a nap. She has bursts where she wants to zoom around, followed by a long nap full of snores. Gidget is Miss Personality and she can’t wait to win you over from minute one!  Gidget starts her day at 8 AM (but would happily sleep in as late as you let her) with a quick morning walk after some cuddles. Once she comes home, she gets breakfast at 9 AM, which she grazes at throughout the morning and early afternoon. Gidget spends her morning napping in the sun or keeping herself occupied with her favorite toys, which are currently anything chewy or squeaky. Gidget is very independent and can keep herself occupied when she needs to. She’s a fabulous work from home companion. In the afternoon, Gidget gets another walk where she goes potty and then spends some more time napping. After dinner at 6 PM, Gidget gets a longer walk before she settles in for some TV and cuddle time. After one last potty trip, Gidget heads to bed in her crate at 10:30 PM.  Gidget is a one dog only kind of gal. She gets along with other dogs after a good introduction, but she would prefer to be your one and only. She knows she’s a star! Gidget walks fabulously on a leash as long as you let her get her sniffing on! Gidget is mostly house trained and is good at spending time in her crate. She would be a fit for almost any size house as long as there is space for her toys! Don’t let this amazing pup pass you by, adopt Gidget!    Gidget is only an option for those with prior dog experience, with priority given to those with Frenchie experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.August 19, 2024, 11:27 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $1200   Big Mac is a 1 year old French Bulldog who is as handsome as he is charming! This dude is a Frenchie lover’s dream and represents the absolute best of the breed. He was surrendered to the shelter for reasons unknown and we scooped him up on a recent trip, promising to find him the very best forever home. Big Mac has an adorably Rudolph-inspired pink nose and fabulous coloring. His temperament is even better than his looks and folks, we know that is hard to believe! This tiny tank is a true treasure and we can’t wait to see him take on the world with his lucky forever family. Unwrap this Big Mac and take him home today!      Big Mac is the perfect dog for those seeking both a new best friend and a way to meet the world around them. He is so affectionate and friendly, charming everyone he meets instantly. He is a total dreamboat of a Frenchie according to his fabulous foster mom. Big Mac is super smart and food motivated, picking up “sit” in less than a minute. He is very attentive to his people and responds quickly to the world around him. He also has great recall and loves being by the side of his humans. While he adores being with his people, Big Mac can also amuse himself when he needs to. If you give him a bully stick, he is content to gnaw for hours! If you want a couch potato hippo friend, he is totally in your face affectionate and will try to climb into your lap for playful snorts. This adorable gentleman is truly the smiliest and most amazing dog you could ever meet. Big Mac promises to bring big love to your home!  Big Mac starts his morning around 7 AM with a big stretch as he exits his crate, heading right outside for a potty trip. He comes back inside for breakfast and some time with his toys as his foster mom gets her day started. In the later morning, Big Mac has some training time where he enjoys his dog treats. He snoozes his way through the heat of the day (wish that could be us), snuggling with his toys and foster siblings. In the early evening, Big Mac gets a romp around the neighborhood where he greets all his friends, both human and canine. Once he returns home, he has his dinner and an evening treat. Before bed, Big Mac soaks up all the cuddles he can as he unwinds from the day. He ends the night snoozing in his crate.  Big Mac lives with several dogs of varying sizes and gets along with them all. He greets other pups well both on and off-leash. He is still learning how to play but he’s getting the hang of it quickly! Big Mac lives with a cat. He loves people both old and young, especially when they have treats for him. Big Mac is crate trained. He enjoys getting his baths! He is working on his leash training and loves meeting new pals. If you’re ready for a Happy Meal of a loving dog, with a side of kisses and cuddles, bring Big Mac home today!      Big Mac is an option for those with prior dog experience, especially those with flat-faced breed experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9.August 19, 2024, 11:27 am

Story
Meet Mel, our delightful companion born on February 17, 2022, who now tips the scales at 37 lbs. Mel joined our home at 6 months old, coming from an acquaintance’s unexpected litter. Her sweet nature shines through in her interactions, making friends easily with dogs of all sizes. Her curiosity keeps her involved in your activities, whether gardening or decorating. She’s not just a passive observer; Mel loves to be part of the action! Mel thrives on daily walks or park visits, amusingly carrying her ball. She prefers one-on-one playdates over dog parks, as she’s a bit shy around larger groups. As the day winds down, Mel transforms into a cuddle buddy, seeking a cozy spot on the couch next to you. Her loving presence makes every moment special. Mel is looking for a forever home where her playful spirit and loving heart will be cherished. Will you be the lucky one to welcome Mel into your life? - Adoption fee is a donation to “Tiny Paws Rescue”

Story
Linus is part of Charlie Brown Litter. Holly mom is French Bull Dog /Boston Terrier mix. 2/16/24 DNA test results: Dad was a Cattle Dog 40% and 9% Border Collie. They should be medium size adults and smart. Holly was abandoned at a distant shelter and was very pregnant. Linus' DOB: 12/1/23. Once we rescued Holly and she arrived at her foster home within 2 hours she went into labor and gave birth to 5 puppies. 2 girls and 3 boys. Whew! Just in time. All the pups and mom did great at their foster home. Home raised healthy lovable and social. The 5 pups are now learning at their next foster home for puppy training. All are playful snuggly and lovable. We do not know what they are mixed with. They seem larger than Frenchie pups and have tails. We will start to review applications Jan 20th. Puppies will be 8 weeks old on Jan. 27th and will get their first vaccinations and deworm. Need home with attached backyard. More info. to come on each puppy's personality. 1/24/24 Update: The 3 boys are fairly similar all playful and slower than the girls. Linus and Snoopy are a little more timid but get more playful when riled up by Brody. All love attention and to be held. They all did very well getting their first shots and these puppies are extremely smart and well behaved for such young puppies. They are learning sit and not to bite and are all doing very very well. They will make wonderful family pets for someone. Their temperament is fantastic gentle playful and sweet. 2/9/24 Update 10 weeks old: Patty is definitely the smallest with smallest paws. Snoopy and Linus are about the same size 12 pounds and Patty is 10 lbs.. I think they will be medium sized dogs. Snoopy and Linus are slower and calmer. Patty is spunky and more independent and curious and a little more Frenchie personality . All learning crate training. Few accidents on pee pads now. They will hold to go out to backyard for potty biz. 3/15/24 Need foster home for one on one puppy training and socials.August 19, 2024, 12:19 am

Story
Phoebe is a love bug. Phoebe (Ghostbuster) was rescued from a crowded shelter. She is very sweet charming calm and friendly. Good with other dogs. She had dirty coat mild ear infections and long toe nails. Phoebe will be bathed and get groomed. She is chunky and needs to lose a little weight and get healthier. Need guardians who understand Frenchie needs. At her foster home she already loves going into the dog 'kiddie pool'. Having fun and playing with other dogs. More info to come as she learns relaxes and gets healthier at her foster home. Kids 12 and up. Update: She is now healthy and is a super sweetie. She is very attentive and affectionate yet ready for any kind of adventure. She is a busy body and not a snuggly sit still type. Fantastic upbeat personality but also settles down nicely after playing with other dogs and short walks. She is easy going for short sniff walks. She saw cats at previous boarding home and got very excited when she sees a cat but is fine with dog-savvy cat in her foster home. At her foster home she is calm and loving. Loves to lounge and snuggly.August 19, 2024, 12:19 am

Story
French Bulldog Age: 2-3 yrs old Female, spayed 24 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Mary Lou was brought to the Stockton shelter by someone who said they “found her.” The “finder” thought that maybe she had been hit by a car, which is why she didn’t have any use of her back legs? However, there were no signs of trauma. Given her breed and that she was obviously used for breeding with no signs of ever having a C-section, it is likely that she injured her back giving natural puppy birth (French Bulldogs require C-section surgery to safely birth puppies, but there are a lot of unscrupulous backyard breeders just trying to make a buck and taking shortcuts - leaving the dogs to suffer. Many of the dogs we work with that have no use of their back legs recover to some degree with work. Mary Lou hasn’t made much progress in this area, so will likely be a paraplegic dog for the remainder of her life. She prefers to drag the hind legs behind her, rather than using a cart. And because she doesn’t have use of her back legs, pee and pooping has it’s challenges, as well. In addition to no use of her back legs, she does have some medical conditions that are common to the bulldog breed (allergies, ear infections, and the occasional urinary tract infections associated with her urinary challenges). * * * * STOP BREEDING BULLDOGS!!!! * * * * Mary Lou qualifies for our “permanent foster” program where we support her vet needs for the remainder of her life (as long as she is fostered/adopted locally). On the other hand, she is super, super sweet. She loves everyone: humans and canines (and maybe cats? Not sure). She needs a home with no stairs, and where someone is home most of the time. She would prefer a home with another friendly dog. For more information about Mary Lou, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
