Story
Oden is a charming 3-year-old French Bulldog weighing in at 25 pounds. This laid-back fellow is a crate pro and gets along well with other dogs, though he tends to favor human company. A playful pup at heart, Oden loves chasing toys and fetching balls. To keep up with his enthusiastic eating habits, he requires a slow feeder. Despite his love for cuddles on your lap, Oden is also quite independent and enjoys his alone time. Gentle and patient, we think he'd be ok for a home with respectful kids. This handsome fella is is a low-maintenance, easygoing buddy. Story
Zora is a (almost) 3-year-old French Bulldog looking for a loving home. She is an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion who adores spending time with her people. Zora is a true house dog, happiest when she's cozy and snuggled up next to you. We've loved having Zora as part of our family for the past few months, after adopting her from her original owner, but we've realized that she would thrive best in a home where she can be the center of attention. Zora can be a bit unsure around other dogs and unfamiliar people in her home, so she needs to be the only pet in a calm and quiet environment. She's up-to-date on all her vaccines and is in excellent health. Zora is ready to bring lots of love and loyalty to the right home! If you think Zora might be the perfect match for you, we’d love to hear from you.

Story
That face! Those eyes! Darling little Scoots will melt your heart. Scoots was brought in as a stray after being left all by himself on the street with no way to fend for himself. He could not walk; he could only manage to drag himself down the sidewalk a few feet at a time. Our veterinarian determined he has intervertebral disk disease, which can partially or completely paralyze the hindquarters. Now living with a temporary foster family, Scoots is doing great. He's a super happy little boy who scampers around without a care, always upbeat and excited to see you and play with his toys. Sometimes he is able to stand on all four legs and take a few steps, but mostly he relies on his front legs to pull himself around. Scoots doesn't know he has a problem. He just wants to love and be loved! Scoots' Cheat Sheet: * Love sponge. * Good with kids * Likes other animals * Easy to walk using sling or wheelchair * Needs a yoga-mat like surface for traction and comfort. * Needs someone who can keep him clean and cared for. * Needs to continue physical therapy to keep him strong. Scoots' fostering family is crazy about him and no wonder. He truly is the sweetest, most loving little dog. Here's what his foster mom has to say: "Scoots has met our dog, 2 cats, and even met my sister's dog! He just wants to say hello and play with everyone, even if the other animals don't want to play! He even loves all the kids that have come by to say hello! Such a social boy! He loves to be around everyone. If we just walk into another room, he will bark until we are in the same room again. And he has the cutest little gobble-like bark. It is so cute and quiet! He snores (quite loudly) while we are working next to him. We have been going out on lots of short walks and he's working hard. Even without the use of his back legs, he sure can move! Sometimes it’s hard to keep up! He’s even been working his legs around the house. We love having Scoots in our home. He does have a lot of needs that require patience and care, but he's worth it!" Are you ready for a special dog who will fill your heart to overflowing? Meet Scoots between 12 and 4 any day of the week except Monday.

Story
This is Duke. You can tell from his face that he has plenty of attitude. This guy is all French Bulldog, emphasis on bulldog. He knows what he wants and goes for it! Duke is full speed ahead at everything he’s interested in. First on his list: toys, with special emphasis on balls! He loves being out and checking out everything going on around him. He’s got looks and personality to spare. Duke is well-behaved walking on leash, though he pulls a little, but he does not react to other dogs. He appears to be housetrained.

Story
French Bulldog Age: 2-3 yrs old Female, spayed 24 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Mary Lou was brought to the Stockton shelter by someone who said they “found her.” The “finder” thought that maybe she had been hit by a car, which is why she didn’t have any use of her back legs? However, there were no signs of trauma. Given her breed and that she was obviously used for breeding with no signs of ever having a C-section, it is likely that she injured her back giving natural puppy birth (French Bulldogs require C-section surgery to safely birth puppies, but there are a lot of unscrupulous backyard breeders just trying to make a buck and taking shortcuts - leaving the dogs to suffer. Many of the dogs we work with that have no use of their back legs recover to some degree with work. Mary Lou hasn’t made much progress in this area, so will likely be a paraplegic dog for the remainder of her life. She prefers to drag the hind legs behind her, rather than using a cart. And because she doesn’t have use of her back legs, pee and pooping has it’s challenges, as well. In addition to no use of her back legs, she does have some medical conditions that are common to the bulldog breed (allergies, ear infections, and the occasional urinary tract infections associated with her urinary challenges). * * * * STOP BREEDING BULLDOGS!!!! * * * * Mary Lou qualifies for our “permanent foster” program where we support her vet needs for the remainder of her life (as long as she is fostered/adopted locally). On the other hand, she is super, super sweet. She loves everyone: humans and canines (and maybe cats? Not sure). She needs a home with no stairs, and where someone is home most of the time. She would prefer a home with another friendly dog. For more information about Mary Lou, contact nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
