We've loved having Zora as part of our family for the past few months, after adopting her from her original owner, but we've realized that she would thrive best in a home where she can be the center of attention. Zora can be a bit unsure around other dogs and unfamiliar people in her home, so she needs to be the only pet in a calm and quiet environment. That face! Those eyes! Darling little Scoots will melt your heart. Scoots was brought in as a stray after being left all by himself on the street with no way to fend for himself. He could not walk; he could only manage to drag himself down the sidewalk a few feet at a time. Our veterinarian determined he has intervertebral disk disease, which can partially or completely paralyze the hindquarters. Now living with a temporary foster family, Scoots is doing great. He's a super happy little boy who scampers around without a care, always upbeat and excited to see you and play with his toys. Sometimes he is able to stand on all four legs and take a few steps, but mostly he relies on his front legs to pull himself around. Scoots doesn't know he has a problem. He just wants to love and be loved! Scoots' Cheat Sheet: * Love sponge. * Good with kids * Likes other animals * Easy to walk using sling or wheelchair * Needs a yoga-mat like surface for traction and comfort. * Needs someone who can keep him clean and cared for. * Needs to continue physical therapy to keep him strong. Scoots' fostering family is crazy about him and no wonder. He truly is the sweetest, most loving little dog. Here's what his foster mom has to say: "Scoots has met our dog, 2 cats, and even met my sister's dog! He just wants to say hello and play with everyone, even if the other animals don't want to play! He even loves all the kids that have come by to say hello! Such a social boy! He loves to be around everyone. If we just walk into another room, he will bark until we are in the same room again. And he has the cutest little gobble-like bark. It is so cute and quiet! He snores (quite loudly) while we are working next to him. We have been going out on lots of short walks and he's working hard. Even without the use of his back legs, he sure can move! Sometimes it’s hard to keep up! He’s even been working his legs around the house. We love having Scoots in our home. LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT FOSTER/ADOPTER! Bailey holds a special place in our heart at Jelly's Place. She is our office dog, and is very devoted to her "people". She is charming, quirky, VERY smart, and once she loves and trusts you she is a loyal girl. We just adore her and know we will find just the right home for her. Bailey was an owner surrender who came to us with some psychological trauma. We suspect she was used for breeding and not treated very well. In her time with us she has gone from being frightened and unapproachable, to a love bug who wants affection (on her terms), treats, and silly playtime with her toys. Note: Bailey also has skin allergies (we tested her) and that involves some medicated baths and occasional anti itching meds. Bailey needs consistency, and loves her routine. She does great on a leash and would benefit from daily walks. She is a very easy companion animal, and would be a good fit with a family who doesn't need an active dog. The ideal home for Bailey would be with a family who has experience with the Frenchie breed and their special personality. A family without kids would be best, she is a one or two person dog. Once you get past her initial gruff exterior, and Bailey knows you are her person she will melt your heart, and will love you with all of her heart. Miss Piggy was found roaming the streets; her owner was not found, and she had no chip. We took her in from the person who found her. Unfortunately, we do not have the time to give her the attention she needs, she is extremely friendly and needs a lot of attention. Every time she is left alone, she is very sad. She needs an owner who works from home or has more friendly pets to keep Miss Piggy happy. We took her to the Vet, and she got most of her meds. We will also provide toys, a crate, a leash, food, flea prevention, etc. We do not know her age exactly, and she needs to get an ultrasound to see if the is fixed or not.
