Dexi and Lilly are siblings - from a breeder in TX, they have made their way to NJ and are looking for a new home. They are both about 13 years old and about 25 lbs. They are both fixed. Dexi is cool and collected, Lilly is a little bit sassy. They are bonded and need to remain as a pair. They are very friendly with kids and love all humans. As far as dogs go, they really only like each other and can be a bit vocal. They love food and treats, and are over all sweet dogs. They love the water, baths and car rides. Everyone loves a Boston Terrier and so do we! This girl is not one of those well bred BT's but one of those that needs the most help! Our girl is called Jettie and She is a 22 pound, 9 year old mostly black female Boston Terrier girl that is healthy and happy and looking for a home. Feisty and confident like most Bostons, this girl has alot of spunk, and alternatively really enjoys napping by your feet. Her story is that her owner died and the owner’s son took her to live with him. It was not he happy time and situation for Jettie. This innocent and lost little girl was put at that time, and only 17 pounds, in the back yard with his Pit Bulls. HORRORS!!!!! OF COURSE things went wrong and based on the fact that animal control was called, she was surrendered with so many wounds on her body, neck and tail. Despite the nightmare, she is still loving and trusting and just wanting to BELONG. This girl has been in foster care for the past month and the wounds are healed on the outside but emotionally she is constantly looking over her shoulder to see if she needs to protect herself. Can you help Jettie? She is not a shrinking violet and out of survival instinct, a girl who will be appreciative for whatever is done for her. Since she has always been 'defending' herself, we are asking for an ONLY DOG HOME for her. We don't want her to always be looking over her shoulder at another dog coming to hurt her. I think she learned to growl and act like an alpha to thwart the constant aggression she was living with. Because of that, I feel that she has earned the right to belong to a living family who has no other dogs…She respects the cat and dogs in the foster home because they show her no malice, but on occasion she will growl and posture if she feels threatened. If you can handle that tension for while till it subsides then fine....but it is there. She is a loving dog who longs for walks, cuddles and the love of a human(s) in a safe and loving environment! Don't let these pictures fool you!!! This dog is adorable in person! Meet Curly! This sweet boy is about 2 years old and weighs 18 pounds. He has striking blue eyes! Curly is crate trained, housebroken, good with kids and other dogs. Curly really takes his cues from his dog friends and he loves to play! He might be shy at first but then he bonds quickly and hard. He is extremely loyal to both his canine friends, his feline friends and his humans. We would love to see Curly go to a home with another dog to help boost his confidence and show him the ropes but we also see that he could flourish as an only dog with some patience and time! He really loves his people and attaches quickly. Curly has been around children but would recommend 10+ for in home living if there are kids. Of course cats and dogs are all welcome for him! He does very well on a leash. This friendly little guy is just hopeful that his next family will be his forever family. Odie would do well in a home with kids or other small dogs. He’s the kindest little guy with the biggest heart, and he simply longs to be loved the way he loves in return. Meet MJ! He is a 9yr old beagle/terrier mix. He was found as a stray in KY and ended up in a kill shelter...until we rescued him. He seems to get along with every other dog we have (incl puppies of all ages). He walks well on a leash once he gets over the excitement of being out with you. At only about 40 lbs, he is the perfect sized companion dog. MJ is very smart too and learned to sit for a treat & give his paw within 5mins. His aim is to please :) We find that he doesn't like to be without people in general but that's not to say that he likes all people and is definately picky about who he trusts. The ideal home would have someone around rather than leaving him for the workday and would have some dog training knowledge about how to handle a fear aggressive dog. We can no longer bring him to adoption events since many in the general public do not know how to read a dog's body language (he does give signs when he's uncomfortable). We would recommend a low-traffic household for sure because of the potential fear aggressive bite and someone with experience in dealing with this behavior. Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Unless otherwise indicated, puppies are NOT spayed or neutered since our vet recommends waiting until 6mos of age to do so. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting.
