Zeus is a10 year-old Brindle Boston mix, 33 pounds of muscle, with a gentle mouth; he's a very loving guy who loves to play with dogs his size. He's a bit energetic for smaller dogs, but played with our 10# puppy every day. Zeus would love to have a 6 foot fenced yard with room to run and play; he used to jump our 4 foot fence. Everyone loves a Boston Terrier and so do we! This girl is not one of those well bred BT's but one of those that needs the most help! Our girl is called Jettie and She is a 22 pound, 9 year old mostly black female Boston Terrier girl that is healthy and happy and looking for a home. Feisty and confident like most Bostons, this girl has alot of spunk, and alternatively really enjoys napping by your feet. Her story is that her owner died and the owner’s son took her to live with him. It was not he happy time and situation for Jettie. This innocent and lost little girl was put at that time, and only 17 pounds, in the back yard with his Pit Bulls. HORRORS!!!!! OF COURSE things went wrong and based on the fact that animal control was called, she was surrendered with so many wounds on her body, neck and tail. Despite the nightmare, she is still loving and trusting and just wanting to BELONG. This girl has been in foster care for the past month and the wounds are healed on the outside but emotionally she is constantly looking over her shoulder to see if she needs to protect herself. Can you help Jettie? She is not a shrinking violet and out of survival instinct, a girl who will be appreciative for whatever is done for her. Since she has always been 'defending' herself, we are asking for an ONLY DOG HOME for her. We don't want her to always be looking over her shoulder at another dog coming to hurt her. I think she learned to growl and act like an alpha to thwart the constant aggression she was living with. Because of that, I feel that she has earned the right to belong to a living family who has no other dogs…She respects the cat and dogs in the foster home because they show her no malice, but on occasion she will growl and posture if she feels threatened. If you can handle that tension for while till it subsides then fine....but it is there. She is a loving dog who longs for walks, cuddles and the love of a human(s) in a safe and loving environment! Meet MJ! He is a 9yr old beagle/terrier mix. He was found as a stray in KY and ended up in a kill shelter...until we rescued him. He seems to get along with every other dog we have (incl puppies of all ages). He walks well on a leash once he gets over the excitement of being out with you. At only about 40 lbs, he is the perfect sized companion dog. MJ is very smart too and learned to sit for a treat & give his paw within 5mins. His aim is to please :) We find that he doesn't like to be without people in general but that's not to say that he likes all people and is definately picky about who he trusts. The ideal home would have someone around rather than leaving him for the workday and would have some dog training knowledge about how to handle a fear aggressive dog. We can no longer bring him to adoption events since many in the general public do not know how to read a dog's body language (he does give signs when he's uncomfortable). We would recommend a low-traffic household for sure because of the potential fear aggressive bite and someone with experience in dealing with this behavior. Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Unless otherwise indicated, puppies are NOT spayed or neutered since our vet recommends waiting until 6mos of age to do so. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. NOTE: If you are seeing this posting, she's still available :) Meet Trixie! We were told she was born on 1/11/22. Her mom looked to be a boston terrier mix. Trix is tipping the scales at 25lbs and is lean because she's always on the go given her age. Trixie is a very sweet girl, who just needs some basic training. Her fosterhome has a fenced yard and since she has had minimal leash training, that works best at the moment. She needs routine & some manners to be the perfect family pet. Trix is up to date on all of her vaccines, is spayed and was tested for HW and tick borne diseases - all were neg. She has the shiniest sleek black coat we've ever seen on a pup before! She's very treat motivated and when it comes to taking commands, she's all ears LOL Her friends are a group of adult dogs as well as a couple of young shepherd mixes that are double her size also with us. Trixie's favorite game is fetch & she actually brings the ball back to you! Recent small breed experience is a must since they're just not for everyone & definitely not for the 1st time dog owner. This girl would NOT do well in a city environment, so we're seeking a more rural home since that's all she knows. Well hello there! My name is Axel! I am a tiny 14 week old Boston Terrier puppy. I was born at a kennel and my breeder wasn't able to sell me because I had an inguinal hernia. But guess what? I OUT GREW IT! I'm good as new and ready for my forever home! I am a happy, silly, playful little guy! I love toys and I love to run around the yard. I am very bouncy and goofy when I run. Snuggling is my FAVORITE thing ever!!!! I sleep in my foster mom's bed some nights and that is THE BEST!! I curl up on her shoulder with my cheek against hers and go right to sleep. I am a velcro puppy and I love to be held and cuddled. Other nights I sleep in my crate with a stuffed animal and a fluffy blanket. I am typically quiet in my crate, but I am still getting used to it. I fuss a little when I am put away at first, but then I settle down to play with a toy or take a nap. I am just beginning potty training but I'm doing great! My foster mom takes me outside for frequent potty breaks while I am awake. I can't go more than a few hours alone in my crate. Please be prepared to help my puppy self learn to be the best adult dog I can be. I am a growing boy! Since I am too little to be neutered just yet, I will be adopted with a Neuter Contract that states I must be neutered by 6 months of age. This contract has a refundable $250 deposit that will be returned to my adoptive family when proof of neutering is sent to the rescue. I am up to date on my core vaccines, microchipped, and have been routinely treated with parasite preventatives. I am being fostered in Southern Lancaster County, and folks interested in adopting me must come to my foster home twice.
