Story
MY ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED AUGUST 19 - 25 AS PART OF OUR DOG ADOPTATHON !!! Lunchable is a handsome boy who is looking for a special home. He is one of the dogs from the large surrender we took of under-socialized boxers. Due to his abnormal history he is a very nervous guy who is slow to warm up to people and new situations. He has made some friends while he has been with us and sometimes even enjoys some neck scratches. Lunchable will need a family committed to helping him settle in at his own pace and learn normal dog behaviors. He would likely do best in a home without another dog or young kids. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog thats a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) theyre interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
We adopted our dog as a puppy. She was the runt of a litter of puppies born in a hoarder house in Alabama. She was about 12 weeks old when we got her from a rescue organization. She is great size. She is active when you are but completely okay to lounge around on days when you're home. We love our dog so much. With us she is so sweet asking for pets and sitting on my lap (even though she is a large dog). She is cute as can be with short hair and a whippy tail. Her brindle color is unique. She barely sheds. With her pack, she is the best dog. She is very well trained with commands and housebroken with no issues. The issues is she is aggressive to strangers and resources guards other dogs. We have tried training and some behavior work but she is a challenge. She has a bite history. We have a 10 year and she is okay with her since she has known her since she was a puppy. The problem comes when kids come overor anyone really. She gets scared but then turns aggressive.

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper, slow introductionsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Older children only (16+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesIf you’re looking for the ultimate companion, Jaxtyn checks all of the boxes: he’s extremely smart, attentive, dedicated, and eager to make his humans happy. (Plus, he’s extra, extra handsome if we do so say so ourselves!)Jaxtyn absolutely loves affection and thrives on the connection he makes with his humans. While he does prefer a slower introduction when meeting new people, he quickly becomes comfortable and loves to show off his impressive manners. Jax gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions (he can still be wary of new friends he meets on the street), and while he would enjoy a dog sibling to nap and play with, he would be just as happy as an only dog where he can be the center of attention.Jaxtyn has been working diligently on his training with his foster dad and has an impressive skillset that includes focus and release commands, expert-level leash-walking skills, and all of his basic commands like ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘wait’. Jaxtyn is fully house and crate-trained and thrives with structure and routine. Jaxtyn is currently working to gain more confidence on walks around things like bikes, scooters, or busy sidewalks and he’s making stellar progress. Jaxtyn would do great in a home in the city as he’s shown he can be comfortable in an urban setting or would love a more low-key house in the suburbs with a yard to romp and roam in. Bonus - he’s great in the car so he’d be thrilled to be your adventure buddy! Jaxtyn is an amazing boy who’s ready to find - and unconditionally love - his family! August 19, 2024, 12:12 pm

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: UnknownGood with kids: YesCrate trained: NoHouse Trained: YesDaisy is a sweet, wonderful, and loving pup, on the lookout for her forever home! Calm and well-mannered, Daisy loves nothing more than relaxing in a safe, comfortable space, with her humans by her side. A perfect house guest, Daisy prefers to be outside of the crate, and proves her manners each time she is left at home. While Daisy has been around all types of humans, she seems to need a bit more time adjusting to the men in the house, and does best with slow, low to the ground introductions, at her pace. She has met kids of all ages, and would prefer to be around dog-savvy kids that know when to give her space. With proper patient intros, Daisy will befriend any respectful four-legged friend, and would love a dog to look up to, who can teach her that life isn’t as scary as it seems! Daisy loves being inside of the car on a ride, but  would prefer to walk on a quieter street, as being outside of the car isn’t her favorite! Secure, monitored areas are best for this girl. Sleeping through the night, and loving a good nap wherever her humans are, Daisy is ready to be your shadow! If your patient, loving home seems like the right fit for a sweet, hopeful girl, Daisy just might be the pup for you! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website.
