MY ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED AUGUST 19 - 25 AS PART OF OUR DOG ADOPTATHON !!! I`m currently in a foster home and not at the adoption center. Come in to talk with our staff about me and arrange a time to meet me! www.mspca.org/dogs Chencho5 years oldAmerican Bully Have you ever dreamt of having your very own house hippo? Well dream no further! Chencho is the chunkiest house hippo on the block and is ready to dazzle you with his ample good looks and charm. This large couch potato would make a great companion in a variety of households as long as there are plenty of scritches available for him! He is not a fan of sharing his favorite things, so he would do best in a home without young children. He might be able to live with another dog with plenty of management. Chencho seems to have some allergies so it will be important to have a close relationship with a veterinarian to keep him feeling his best. Regardless, he promises to wiggle his way into your heart in no time! If you think you are a good fit and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Zira is a shy girl who is looking for that special someone to help discover her true inner puppy power. She came to us from a situation where she didn`t get a lot of socialization during her formative months, so she needs a family who can take things at her pace. Zira isn`t convinced that people are friends just yet, but she is food motivated so she is slowly coming around to us. She has shown interest in other dogs, so we think having a canine companion that can be a good a role model for her. Zira has been too fearful to walk on a leash, so a yard space will be important for her to be able to access the outdoors while she is settling in. Once she does, get ready - we see zoomies and puppy play in your future! If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. Story
MEET COFFEE!I am looking for:-Another confident dog at home-A teen/adult only homeCoffee is a young and active dog who was originally found as a stray in Boston. He is an adorably confident puppy who responds to positive reinforcement training impressively well, and already has a great foundation for potty training and crate training. As squishy and adorable this cutie is we have observed some extra mouthy behavior in the shelter and in foster care. We are looking for a home for Coffee where his handlers will be committed to using positive reinforcement methods and setting clear boundaries in order to extinguish the mouthing behavior while he is still a young pup. Coffee is required to go home to another dog that he can play with and help teach him bite inhibition through appropriate dog play. Coffee does very well when paired with other dogs, and we notice a decrease in his mouthiness. If you think this may be the right fit for you, please inquire today!Coffee is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Coffee or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Santini has excellent manners and is house trained and crate trained. She would love to show off everything she has learned including sit, stay, down, and heel (for a treat of course)! Santini is happy to fit into her humans' routine and picks up quickly on new commands. She is very accommodating, walks well on a leash, and corrects/redirects easily. Santini loves to play, but is also happy to hang out with her people around the house.Santini would do best as the only dog in the house with an experienced dog owner who can maintain consistent boundaries and expectations to help her succeed and feel reassured. She is an athletic gal who loves to chase after balls and show off her signature ‘hopping prance’. She would love to have a fenced in yard or a local fenced in area so she can show off her moves! When she has finally expended all of her energy you can find her searching for the best sunbathing spot to take a snooze in. Santini is a sweet, gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be loved and make you laugh with her goofy antics. Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.August 19, 2024, 12:12 pm

Bounce is the girl for you! She has a fantastically low-key personality, is low-maintenance in terms of exercise (she's happy with a leisurely walk or spending time out in a yard rolling in the grass and enjoying the sun,) and mostly just wants to spend time with her humans, even if it means simply snoozing at their feet.Bounce is fully crate and house-trained, non-destructive, incredibly intelligent, and highly motivated by treats so you can bond with her over doggy snacks while teaching her some new tricks. Although Bounce may be a little shy around unfamiliar people or places, she looks to her humans for reassurance and enjoys weekend outings to Home Depot, where she can proudly display her exceptional leash-walking skills. Bounce thrives on the love she gets from her family and would be happiest as an only pet where she can receive ALL of the attention and affection. Whether you work from home or in an office, have a fenced yard, or live in a denser area, Bounce will adapt easily to her new home as long as you can provide Bounce an abundance of love and snuggles! Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted.
