This puppy has all the potential to be the best bud a family could ever have. He’s intelligent, inquisitive, attentive, calm, and gentle. The perfect little gentleman.Junior was exclusively housed outside in the South, where he played freely with other dogs all day, so there are some unknowns. He’s really smart and catches on quickly, so basic training - potty, leash, crate, sit, stay - should be a cinch. He loves and plays well with other dogs and children but has not had any exposure to babies, toddlers, or cats. This dog lives to love and please, suggesting he'll adapt well to new environments and interactions.Junior is eager to find a loving home and make one lucky family very proud. Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.July 15, 2024, 2:33 am

Story
Leah came to TJO a little timid, but warmed up quickly once she became comfortable! She's an absolute love and adores playing and running with people, but she's quite the jumper and would need a home with a tall fence. She also doesn't understand the concept of personal space quite yet! She wants to be as close as possible as often as possible, and will lick incessantly for as long as she's allowed to. OTHER PETS:Leah gets overzealous when interacting with other dogs. She wants to play, but comes in too strong and with too much energy, which could possibly lead to a fight with the wrong dog. While she does take corrections well, she would likely do best as an only dog while she learns how to play appropriately. It's possible she could do well with a neutral, tolerant dog who gives appropriate corrections, but while she's still learning it's important that any interactions are supervised and managed. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE:Leah is an energetic dog that would do best with someone who has experience with caring for and handling high-energy dogs that need some help learning how to interact with other dogs politely. [Some Experience]KIDS: Leah can be very jumpy and in-your-face with her affections, and thus would do best with kids who are old enough to not be easily knocked over. She is also uncomfortable with some forms of handling, and so would need kids who are old enough to understand and respect those boundaries. [15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL:Leah is a dog that will likely require a good amount of daily exercise-- meaning walks, play time in the yard, and down the line, maybe even hiking! Alongside typical forms of physical exercise, though, she'll also thrive with various forms of mental enrichment to keep her mind and body busy. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:Leah is still at the beginning of her training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Leah to not only learn her basic cues, but also help her learn how to play appropriately with other dogs, how to settle on her own, and how to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate]GROOMING:[Minimal]July 14, 2024, 6:28 pm

Story
Sasha is about 18 months old, and still very much a puppy. She is playful and energetic, and is loving to humans and other dogs. She loves treats and toys, is happy to go for walks or play in the yard, and loves a good siesta!  is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
