Story
Since Lincoln's arrival, he has been a gentleman and enjoys showing off all the tricks he can do! Lincoln knows how to sit, lay down, give paw and speak. He is strong on a leash, but the help of a harness makes walking much easier. Lincoln enjoys playing with toys and getting attention. Lincoln also needs to be the only pet. While here at the shelter, Lincoln has meet a couple of other dogs and does not like them. Lincoln has a hard time focusing when they are around and needs a home where he will not be in a busy neighborhood full of them. He is happy when meeting new people and cannot wait to be a part of a family again. As for kids, Lincoln is hoping to find a household with older kids that can participate in taking him for daily walks. Otherwise, an adult home would suit him just fine. If you are viewing this dog's profile on Adopt-a-Pet and are interested in adopting, please head to our official website at www.worcesterarl.org to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry Form, which will be located under the dog's profile.

Meet Joker! This goofy boy lives up to his name. Joker is tons of fun and sure to put a smile on your face! Joker has become a staff favorite and goes jogging two and a half miles a few times a week with his favorite volunteer. Other days Joker can be found keeping staff company in an office or in our fenced yard practicing his agility skills. Joker is eager to please and a sucker for attention. He is hoping to find a home with someone creative who can teach him some new tricks and reward him with lots of treats. Joker is a fast learner and very attentive. With loads of puppy like energy, this young boy would love to find a home without other dogs. He longs to have a yard to call his own where he can run in the shade and relax in the sun. Due to Joker's overly enthusiastic nature when greeting people and during play, a home without young children will be the most fun for him at this time. Request a visit with Joker today!

Story
Hi, my name is Kaizer. I am a pretty relaxed boy looking for a home with a fenced yard where I can sunbathe for most of the day. You see, I enjoy the simple things in life. A delicious meal, some good companionship, and a fun game of fetch. What I prefer to avoid is the dog park. If you ask me, all those young silly dogs jumping all over each other seems a bit unnecessary. I am way too cool for any of that funny business. I am looking forward to finding a home with adults who appreciate the same things that I do. Click the link below and take the first step in setting up a visit with me!

Story
This little monkey is George. George is a year old cutie pie with quite the zest for life. How did he get the name George, you ask? This fun loving guy is as curious as they come! Kennel life has been stressful for George but this smart cookie cozied up to the boss, quickly becoming BFF's with our Executive Director, Kristin. Since becoming Kristin's office mate, we have learned a lot about him. George is a happy-go-lucky fella who enjoys meeting people though is occasionally a little shy to start. Once he warms up, he is all about getting and giving love! George has a lot of energy and will make a wonderful companion to an active and outgoing person, or couple, who matches his play-style and exuberance level. He enjoys running in the fenced yard, going on walks, and playing indoors with his toys so he's looking for an active family that can give him the exercise and play time he desires. He is also very smart and loves to learn new things, especially when he's rewarded with treats.George is a big fan of toys - every day is Christmas for this guy! Given his play-style and level of excitability, we think he would do best in home without young children. George will also be happiest as your only love (no other pets, please!) but trust us, with his fun nature and sweet personality, you won't yearn for another dog. Cats and critters are also a no for our curious pal. Like many terriers, his prey drive is strong. Since George is still young, he would benefit from some training - positive reinforcement only! He has attended training classes with our volunteer dog trainer at the shelter which he truly enjoys. It is recommended he will continue with this training. George would love a family that would work with him on his manners and impulse control to help him build off of the progress he's made here with us. At the shelter, George has learned ‘sit', ‘leave it', ‘wait', and ‘paw'. Continued training will benefit him as he needs work with loose leash walking and learning the polite way to greet people. Our friend George likes to jump! We have also started crate training where he enjoys relaxing in his crate with his toys! As much as we love this brindle beauty, George deserves a family to call his own and Kristin can't wait to introduce you to her special boy! To learn more about George and request to meet him in person, please compete the inquiry form below!

Story
Handsome Hershey is a very shy, kind and wonderful boy! He appreciates gentle handling, and is looking for an adopter with previous experience owning a dog, who can help boost his confidence. This gentle soul is worth getting to know. Since arriving at the shelter Hershey is learning to walk on leash and enjoys playing with other gentle dogs and spending time with volunteers. Hershey may do well in a home with other calm dogs, who can help him adjust to his new surroundings but they would have to meet first. Treats and toys are just one way to this boy's heart. Having a reserved disposition, this sweet boy is looking for a quiet, patient home. If there are to be children in the home, they should be older teens who have been around dogs before. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PittieLove Rescue, Inc. a 501c3 orgainization is an all-volunteer, foster home based rescue. Adoption Fee: $450 Our information is current if you are interested please fill out an adoption form here http://www.pittieloverescue.org/adoption-application It is the easiest way to start the communication and adoption process. Meet Maggie! This 2-year old house panther came to us from our friends at a local animal shelter after being found as a stray. We’re shaking our heads as to how this playful and snuggly midnight princess didn’t have a home. Maggie can be a little shy at first, but is a friendly and active youngster who loves all dog toys, but reallllly loves squeaky toys (though she destroys them with gusto!). This shady lady, with the BEST espresso coat, wags and wiggles when she meets new people, but isn’t a fan of loud city noises. One of her favorite pastimes is snuggling on the couch, or in bed…she just wants to be close to her human all the time and basically sits on top of her foster mom at any opportunity.   Maggie loves the water and will submerge her whole body into it (but hasn’t actually swam). She’s great in the car and either looks out the window or lays down in the backseat. She’s a loving and velvety raven pooch who just needs a home to call her own! Maggie is basically a big puppy and is working on some basic manners like jumping and counter surfer. But is making strides in a short time and would just need a forever family who will continue to work on the basics. She is currently in a foster home in Boston and we have discovered the city has stressed her out, so she’s looking for a quiet place to settle. And while she did great on her dog tests, she has gotten a bit more stressed out by some dogs in the city. Whether that’s due to the stress of city living or is just who she is remains to be seen. Because of this, were looking to place her as an only dog, but she has so much love to give, she’s all you need! Due to her size and a lack of history, older kids would be best for this smoky gal. She loves to romp in the yard with her two foster brothers, those little legs can move! While running, she also likes to keep the boys guessing, she will intersperse some ninja like rolls into her moves   Leash walks are a favorite pastime of hers, she loves to sweetly greet people as she strolls around. Jubilee also loves car rides, looking out the window taking in all the sites. If food motivated pups are your forte- look no further, this little lady has never met a treat she doesn’t like! Brace yourselves for this one, friends! Introducing Sugar! This pint sized pittie princess was saved from imminent death and fostered by incredible and caring emergency veterinarian Abby. We were contacted when Sugar was in a life-or-death situation and who could say no to that sweet face? Unfortunately for Sugar, she lost all of her puppies in her struggles, but she’s ready to move on from that tragedy to a life of luxury! This cotton ball of a pittie sometimes plays hard to get, but once she sees freeze dried beef treats in your hand, she’s your best friend! As one might expect with her bowling ba5ll-esque appearance, Sugar isn’t exactly what you’d call an athlete. She does enjoy a good game of fetch but is otherwise very happy to curl up on the couch with her people and soak up all the snuggles. Her favorite fetch toy is her big stuffed llama which also doubles as a pillow when that big old noggin gets too heavy to hold up  Are you looking to add the absolutely sweetest nugget of Sugar to your lives? Introducing Alberta! This stocky sweetheart came to us from our friends at Boston Animal Care and Control after being found as a stray. Big thank you to former adopters and new fosters Stephannie and Joe and PLR alum James for giving this cute girl a safe place to decompress and learn how to dog. Alberta is as statuesque as her lofty name may imply   she’s a big lady with a personality to match! Her blockhead is large, but her heart is even larger. She is an easy-going lady who enjoys shorter leash walks and romps around in the yard. Her foster family has described her as “happy to be here”. She rides well in the car and loves napping in her crate. Alberta is also a tug of war queen, engaging with her family as much as she possibly can! Because of her shorter bully nose, Alberta comes complete with her own soundtrack that she can’t wait to serenade her forever family with   When you come home to Alberta, you can be sure to be greeted wit the sweetest pibble nibbles. Because of her size, and lack of insight into such, Alberta will do best in a home with larger two-legged littles. She loves sharing her home and love with both her canine and feline foster siblings, so could do well in a home with either or both! Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! -- If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $250. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
