Story
Meet Champion! Champion is an older man at 12 years but all that means is that he's got lots of experience and knows how to be the best dog around. He walks perfectly on leash and loves a nice stroll around the block. Champion is currently living his best life in the comfort and care of a foster home, his caretakers report that he's a perfect house guest and spends most of his time napping and relaxing on the couch. Champion would make a perfect companion for most homes as he's lived with dogs, cats, and kids before so would do well in most homes **if you'd like to meet Champion, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email Claire at cshamgochian@parl.org to set up a meet and greet**

Meet MT - Coming Soon - Cruelty Case Dog - Take My Lead This sweet girl is part of an active cruelty case. We can explain more on that to any interested applicants once she is ready to be officially placed up for adoption. When she first arrived, she was confused and frantic, but after months of love and care, she has blossomed. She lives at a local shelter where their most skilled staff has been working hard to help her recover from his past life. She has been granted an HDR Take My Lead grant, which in this case we prefer to be a mandatory part of adoption due to his level of fear, which provides him with FREE private training and group classes once adopted.

Story
Rosie has been waiting over 550 days for a forever home. She is our longest resident and she desperately needs a forever home. Her ideal family would not have children under 12 or other pets. She is a stunning, 2.5 year old, female, Pit Bull mixed breed. She loves to play in our backyard and enjoys laying in the sun. She does well on a leash and is working on her house training. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. *PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STRINGENT OUT OF STATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS WE ARE NOW ONLY ADOPTING TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS*. We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience.  HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: 1. Story
Tac is an amazing dog that is going to make the right adopter VERY happy. She was born on 6/17/23 and she is a Pit Bull mixed breed. She is very sweet but shy around new people. She LOVES to play and cuddle with her foster siblings. Her ideal forever home would not have men and would ideally have another dog. She is extremely smart and knows several commands. She is great on a leash and really enjoys exploring outside. She is working on her potty training and has been doing great (her foster mom is a rockstar!). She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull/Shepherd dog or puppy. Story
Meet Aubie 💙 Aubie is a 10 year old Boxer mix. He had a wonderful home where he was spoiled and loved up until a few months ago and then his world fell apart 😔. Aubie’s owner got very sick and could no longer care for himself or Aubie. Aubie was placed at a local vet clinic for several months in hopes that someday he could return home to his person and the life he had always known but unfortunately that is not going to be possible due to the fact that his previous owner has had to have more surgery and has sadly lost his ability to walk. So now Aubie is looking for a new home where he has never has to worry about the future and he can just focus on being the good boy that he is. Aubie is crate and house trained and would do great in a settled home where he still gets to be active. We think a home with an active person or couple or one with older children would be great for Aubie. He is okay with other dogs but is not really interested in being a doggie friend. Aubie just wants a person to hang with and to play ball non stop 🎾. He is very active for his age so a fenced yard for him to run around in is a high priority especially since he loves to spend time outside. This boy has been through so much recently, we are praying his new family will see this post and give him the opportunity to live out his life in the way he deserves being loved and cared for by his new hero. ❤️

Story
**Meet Spirit!** Spirit is a 1-year-old boxer mix with the most gorgeous blue eyes and a smile that will melt your heart. This sweet boy is very well-behaved and has quickly earned the nickname “Velcro dog” because he loves to stick close to his people. He’s pretty good on a leash and enjoys car rides, although he’s still a bit tentative and needs some encouragement to get in. Spirit is also working on his crate training; while he’s hesitant to enter, he does well once inside and doesn’t have accidents. Spirit is fantastic with children and gets along wonderfully with the 7-year-old in his current foster home. He’s still learning how to play with toys and prefers soft treats over hard ones. If you’d like to be the family that shows Spirit, what love is all about. Spirit is sure to become a loyal and loving companion. Are you ready to give Spirit the forever home he deserves?
