He's lived with cats and kids before so would do well in most homes. **if you're interested in Champion, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours**

Story
Meet Dearest Cletus, our sweet and lovable deaf boy who is eagerly looking for his forever home. Cletus came to us from the local shelter, where he was abandoned alongside his companion. Despite his rough start, Cletus has a heart full of love and joy to share.Cletus is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, both big and small. He would thrive in a home with another dog to lead him and play with, but he could also do well as the sole canine companion. His gentle nature ensures he is not food aggressive towards people or other dogs, and he remains calm even when hands are near his face during mealtime. He’s kennel trained and enjoys the comfort of his kennel for sleeping without any fuss. While house training is still in progress, he’s making strides and is eager to learn. Being a puppy, Cletus is curious and needs guidance to differentiate between appropriate doggie toys and household items, so he will benefit from consistent training and structure to help him learn proper manners. When it’s time to go outside, Cletus eagerly waits by the door for his slip lead, ready for his next adventure. He rides well in the car and has a temperament that suggests he would love to play with kids, even though he hasn’t been around them much. He shows no signs of separation anxiety and has had a calm encounter with a cat, showing no aggression.Cletus needs a gentle and patient household that is willing and able to invest in signal training and embrace him as a beloved family member. With the right family, Cletus will blossom into the loyal and loving companion he’s meant to be. Story
Looking for a pup who will brighten your day? Meet Betsy, an adorable 6-month-old pittie/hound mix with a heart full of love and joy! Despite her rough start in life, Betsy has blossomed into a playful and loving companion, weighing in at about 30 pounds and not expected to grow much bigger. Betsy is perfect for a family with kids. Her playful and joyful demeanor is infectious, and she effortlessly charms everyone she meets, including children and fellow four-legged friends. She is a testament to the power of love and resilience! This little sweetheart rides excellent on the road and is crate trained. Crate training is a building block to mastering potty training. As smart as Besty is, she will have potty training down in no time! She's also very treat motivated which is a huge plus in puppy training.  This  little nugget is headed to New England from Arkansas the weekend of July the 20th, so if you're looking to add some sunshine into your life, now's the perfect time. Betsy is fully vetted, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She has been examined by a licensed veterinarian and appears to be in very good health. She's currently on a prevention for heartworms and fleas/ticks.  Her adoption fee is just $450—a small price to pay for so much love and happiness. Adopt Betsy and let her playful spirit brighten your life!         4o ##2101836##

Story
Ruthie's story is very sad. Her owners (never found) tied her to a telephone pole at a gas station in the middle of the night on a cold winter's night. Two young men who pulled in to get gas early in the morning saw her and took her into their car. They then contacted us to see if we could take her in. She was so scared and freezing cold she just cowered in fear for about a week. We are convinced that she was physically abused as well. Little by little she started to come out of her shell. We left her in our nursery building for a few weeks because we thought she may be pregnant. It was obvious that she had had a litter at some point in her life. Turns out she wasn't pregnant so we put her in with the general population where she has thrived. She loves playing with the puppies, she's great with cats and wonderful with children as all Pitties are. She has been spayed, is heart worm negative, fully vaccinated, crate trained and house broken to a doggie door. She is small for a Pittie so we call her a "Pocket Pittie" Ruthie needs her forever home, could that be you? She is ready for immediate transport. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $400
