Story
Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Unknown Good With Kids: Unknown Kennel Trained: Yes Age: 3 Yrs Spayed: No Meet Chip, a shy and loving 3 year old Boxer/Border Collie mix with a heart of gold. He is a handsome black and white boy with big warm brown eyes and a soft, expressive face. He recently started to smile, once he settled in to his foster home. Chip is a gentle soul who can be timid at first when meeting new people. He prefers to take his time getting to know someone new, and may retreat if he feels uncomfortable or overwhelmed. But once he feels safe and secure in his surroundings, he is a loyal and affectionate companion who loves nothing more than getting pets and love. Chip is a medium-sized dog who has a calmer energy level and is dog friendly without being overwhelming. Chip is also a good listener, and he responds well to positive reinforcement training techniques. With his gentle and loving nature, Chip would do well in a calm and stable home environment where he can feel safe and secure. He LOVES having access to his kennel which is where he goes to rest or decompress. Overall, Chip is a sweet and affectionate dog who would make a loyal and loving companion for the right person. With patience, love, and understanding, Chip has the potential to blossom into a confident and happy pup who will melt your heart with his gentle, loving ways. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet the absolute life of the party! His official name is Kie, but he is 100% a Big Mike and this is what he goes by in his foster home. Big Mike is an absolute blast. He says life is meant for living so lets go! A fun loving, playful, and goofy boy, Big Mike has lots of energy. He loves swimming, running, keeping the yard free of any and all critters, and his doggy pals. His foster mom is a runner and he is a natural as a running buddy and can easily keep up for 6-7 miles at a time. At the end of a good day of doggy shenanigans, he likes to snuggle up with his people. He is a genuine lover. Big Mike lives with kids (4 & 7) and is never mean, but would likely be too much for the vast majority of homes with small children. He is great with other dogs of all sizes. He lives with a cat who he simply cannot understand why the cat does not want to play all the time, but has improved some with time. He is perfectly crate trained and rarely makes a noise when kenneled. He does lack some confidence in certain situations and will at times get spooked by a strange hat or weird looking trash can, but is learning more about the world each day.  Big Mike is an assumed mix of Boxer and German Shepherd. We have not confirmed that with any DNA test, but he looks and acts a lot like you would expect of this mix. He likes to gently remind us of his presence with a swipe of his paw (hello, Boxer!) and sometimes has a lot to say (shepherd).  Big Mike is about 65 pounds and is a lean, athletic dog with long legs. He has an estimated birthday of September of 2022, so he is still very much a young dog with all the fun that comes with this stage in life.  Nobody has more personality than Big Mike. He keeps us laughing every day and someone will be sure to have an amazing dog in him. Story
Update 6.1.24 Zeke has enjoyed being outside the last few weeks with the nice weather, he has no problem going out when it is raining, wiping him off is a challenge though since he doesn't like being touched. He gets the zoomies when he comes in from outside sometimes, that is usually a sign that he has pooped. Him and our resident boxer like to play keep away, it is usually him chasing and eventually getting the toy.  Between 9-9:30 pm  he has had enough and whines to go outside and will typically put himself in his kennel letting you know that it is bedtime, although he currently is curled up in the dog bed occasionally whining because he thinks he should be in his kennel but for some reason he won't put himself to bed. My husband says that he really likes his walks and that he really only whines when he wants/needs something.    Things are going well here.  Zeke is a really good dog that is looking for his forever home.  He is a curious boy with all the Boxer attitude, and is sweet and playful and does well with our other dogs.  He loves his toys and is learning how to fetch.  The cat is not an issue for him so a home with a cat could work just fine. He is vocal when he plays and loves to play hard like a typical Boxer. Zeke loves his kennel and puts himself to bed when he is tired.  He loves to ride in the car, is independent and food and treat motivated.  He is housebroken. He isn't a fan of being touched when he's sleeping - he'll grumble and walk away. We have only had him for a few days and he is doing great.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 4:35 pm

Story
Update 8.1.24 Dolly the Boxer! Dolly is the perfect little buddy for people who love dogs and want that wiggle butt greeting you when you come home, but aren’t down for the challenge of raising a puppy or of training a younger dog. Bonus: She lets you sleep-in in the morning!   Dolly is believed to have been a former “mill mama”/breeder and has had a difficult life but you couldn’t tell it from her personality. One of the most affectionate and sweet dogs/boxers I’ve ever cared for, Dolly is content to lay on the couch with you or will follow you around and help you with whatever projects you’re working on. She loves attention and being petted andtalked to, telling her what a good girl she is. Despite what is in her past, she still has the basic Boxer instincts of sweetness, sensitivity, loving people, and wanting to please you. Dolly is healthy, doesn’t appear to have any allergies, is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Dolly will reluctantly go in her kennel but seems fine once she’s in it. I’ve left her out alone forshort periods and she has done just fine. She happily sleeps in her own bed at night in your room but would also sleep on the bed with you if you’d let her! She is potty trained but I’mtraining her to signal us with a jingle bell as well. She loves food and treats (is motivated to learn with treats) and will definitely watch you eat but she’s well-mannered and I haven’t found her to be food protective at all (I’ve had to stick my hand in her mouth to see what she found on the floor and she didn’t resist). She also lets me pick her up and lets me clip her nails!   After being a mill dog - and who knows what else she’s been through - she is dog reactive, so she would need to be the only dog in the home and she is also very interested in the local rabbit population so a fenced in yard would be ideal. She is all of the best parts of a dog and a boxer and will make a snuggly (and wiggly) addition to your family!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 4:35 pm
